Did you upgrade on your live site? Never do this. Always have a testing setup so you avoid these situations.

It’s a requirement of law that email gets run thru filters and may get sent to spam. Might be the email header ain’t right.

You can add meta to updates and filter that way. Google “add meta BuddyPress activity” it’s been discussed before. You will need php skills for this customization

Don’t use globals in template files. Use template tags.

Make sure write permissions on the avatar folder is set to writable.
