go to your profile page and got to the profile tab. then click edit. Each field will have an option for user to hide that field.

In the admin under buddy press menu you will find “profile fields”. Click that to set profile field options.

It’s a BuddyPress plugin and wasn’t ever designed to work on sub domains. Try adding code below to sub domain template file single.php. It should be placed above the comments code.

You can have only one BuddyPress installed on one blog.
Why not use the groups as each state and change groups name to states; url.com/states/ohio
