no, it will be opened for the community to use and develop
Boone’s plugin is outdated, I’m creating a base import export for BP and creating a conversion script for Ning to convert ning files. The plugin on github is in flux as it get’s developed. You can use it on a test site. You will only be able to import if there is a proper script to convert files. If a site is not a major inline service no script will be available unless you code it yourself.
In reply to: Create Sub Nav Menu Item in Profileis account an actual BP component?
In reply to: Active Streams Questiongoogle bp_activity_add
It’s not too difficult to add activity on form submit
In reply to: Best invitation/sign-up code plugin?I installed it and it works with the bp registration page. You may not have the BP version. Download this one hereย https://github.com/modemlooper/bp-codes
The developer has the BP version hidden in svn.
In reply to: Best invitation/sign-up code plugin?What is broken with BAW?
In reply to: Get posts by xprofile fieldyou can get the user id of any member with a specific profile field and then create a custom loop of post by those users.
In reply to: Video: BuddyPress 1.7 Overviewyou can use cache plugins but they are only for posts/pages. You would have to add code to bust the cache when BP content is updated.
In other words, plugin developers have not added BuddyPress support
In reply to: Help web project with BPthere many ecommerce plugins for WordPress but none are 100% integrated into BuddyPress to allow a user to run a shop inside the BuddyPress install. Other option is to run WP multi-site and allow users to have their own site with their own individual store
In reply to: Help web project with BPanything is possible if you have the skill to code. There is no off the shelf solution
In reply to: upgrading to 1.5 prior to 1.6 (with a hail mary ๐Brave! I would have just created a new child theme or got a new BP theme and call it a redesign. ๐
In reply to: WP Symposium Vs BuddyPressI would not recommend using multiple social plugins on the same site
In reply to: Removing link from comment boxIs there a comments.php file?
In reply to: Subject field in private messagesThis field is required. If you don’t want a user to have to enter something then you have to hide it and fill it in for them.
In reply to: Subject field in private messagesI did not test this but go into the theme folder members/single/messages/compose.php
find this:
`<input type=”text” name=”subject” id=”subject” value=”<?php bp_messages_subject_value(); ?>” />`
change it to this:
`<input type=”hidden” name=”subject” id=”subject” value=”private message” />`
In reply to: Codex PostingWhat I wrote above are guidelines that are used on the wp.org codex. We should follow the same methods. There are no “hacks” on the WP codex. There is this page https://codex.wordpress.org/Hacking_WordPress. Like that page states, we should encourage plugins. Do not take it personally. There is no “editor” but I’ve spent a great deal of time organizing the pages. The codex is a living body of work and can change. Just because a page is currently nested doesn’t mean it will stay where it is. Somebody yesterday deleted every page in the codex and had to be put back from a backup and that could be why recent pages are not there.
In reply to: Codex PostingTrue, but tagging is better for hierarchy. Managing this many nested pages can get crazy.
Ok, when editing the template files during the template pack install you added an extra div with id content. I would fix that first. Remove extra div from all bp template files.
The file you pasted into gist is the default theme not Blox. How did you get BuddyPress support into theme? On the theme’s store page it doesn’t say it supports BP
You’re not using the default theme.
firstly, you should never have two elements with the same id http://imgur.com/vytJvgI
div id=content is duplicated.
div.item-list-tabs ul {
width: 98%;
}In reply to: Codex PostingI totally understand wanting a place to put the code snippets that can answer those repetitive forum topics.
The best way is to write a topic in the Creating and Extending forum with title that says what code snippet does and then link to it from the codex. This will allow a discussion to begin on that hack/trick/tip and anyone can include fixes or better ways.
Then it’s easy to respond to those repetitive topics by linking to the same page in the codex. I will clarify this on the codex tips/tricks page.
In reply to: New Menu Tab In GroupIf each group is linking to individual content then why not just place that content inside group. If you want to add the content from the admin you can place a loop on the group tab page instead of sending user outside the group.
Create page in admin, have drop down of groups to save page meta, group tab displays correct page as you chose the page when creating the content.
In reply to: Converting a WP plugin to work in ActivityYou just need to filter the activity content instead of the_content
`add_filter(‘bp_get_activity_content_body’,’mh_youtube_wmode’);`
In reply to: New Menu Tab In GroupThat is difficult and messy to pull off. The tabs are really for content inside the group. Not site navigation.
What are you linking to? What kind of content?
