In reply to: CORRECTED support query
Try testing by switching to a WP default theme such as twentySixteen. Just to rule out the theme.
In reply to: Customize bp-group-template.phpyou can filter that text and add a string to the end
function bp_add_text_after_groups_pagination_count( $message, $from_num, $to_num, $total ){ return $message . ' some text after'; } add_filter( 'bp_get_groups_pagination_count', 'bp_add_text_after_groups_pagination_count', 10, 4 );In reply to: Redirect Loop on Ajax Actions in Custom LoopI would use code examples from the core plugin and not copy from codex, sometimes that can be off slightly. the javascript might not be loading for this page. In your page template you can call the activity loop with
<?php bp_get_template_part( 'activity', 'index' ); ?>Another option is to have the activity page as the front page and then swap out the templates if not logged in.

Something like this BUT you will have load more issues as you need to set cookies for this (bp-groups-filter)
function bp_filter_alpha( $retval ) { $retval['type'] = 'alphabetical'; return $retval; } if( 'alphabetical' === $_GET['type'] ) { add_filter( 'bp_after_has_groups_parse_args', 'bp_filter_alpha' ); }In reply to: Member directory problemIt shows all users but they have to login at least once. Use this plugin to force activate. https://github.com/hnla/force-show-bp-users/blob/master/force-show-bp-users.php

In reply to: NEW! Buddy Member Stats & BuddyPress Community Statsjust in time! need this for a client
do you have site tracking option on in the BuddyPress settings? Also custom post types do not show by default and you have to add them.
add_post_type_support( 'custom-post-type-name', 'buddypress-activity' );In reply to: Linking BuddyPress, WooCommerce and rating systems.Doubt there is a plugin this specific. I’m not sure the specifics but are you saying anyone can review a woo product if they are not logged in?
BuddyPress doesn’t have a specific method for logging in its the same login as WP.
You might try this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24747095/woocommerce-require-registration-to-buy
In reply to: Editing the Single Message TemplateRead this on overriding BP templates in your theme. https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/
Basically you’d copy single.php to your theme/buddypress/members/single/messages/single.php keeping the same folder structure
hook into the filter bp_core_signup_send_activation_key and send a different email message linking them to the form you want them to fill out. On your form submission you can then do the activation link
/** * Filters if BuddyPress should send an activation key for a new signup. * * @since BuddyPress (1.2.3) * * @param bool $value Whether or not to send the activation key. * @param int $user_id User ID to send activation key to. * @param string $user_email User email to send activation key to. * @param string $activation_key Activation key to be sent. * @param array $usermeta Miscellaneous metadata about the user (blog-specific * signup data, xprofile data, etc). */ if ( apply_filters( 'bp_core_signup_send_activation_key', true, $user_id, $user_email, $activation_key, $usermeta ) ) { bp_core_signup_send_validation_email( $user_id, $user_email, $activation_key ); }In reply to: Users can“t create groups!you need to debug a bit, try deactivating plugins and change themes to verify those are not causing the problem.
Are you running a cache on the site?
In reply to: required Username twice at Registrationthe column on the right are added profile fields, you can remove the field from the admin
more info on profile fields https://codex.buddypress.org/administrator-guide/extended-profiles/
In reply to: Project / Film Credit for Buddypress such as IMDBIf you are not a developer then you are better off using something like Gravity forms and having a front end submission for a custom post type.
In reply to: required Username twice at RegistrationBuddyPress and WP do not have two usernames. Is this the BuddyPress registration form or another form by a plugin?
In reply to: How to create a read-only logged-in user?function bp_keep_user_private( $user_login, $user ) { global $wpdb; if( 'username' === $user->user_login ) { $wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( "UPDATE $wpdb->users SET user_status = 2 WHERE ID = %d", $user->ID ) ); } } add_action( 'wp_login', 'bp_keep_user_private', 10, 2 );you can try something like this that will set that account to inactive on every login. change username to the real username
In reply to: What does Site Tracking do?yes, sorta a misplaced admin option. its not a component at all. should be a setting and only show if activity is enabled.
Your worrying about nothing. As long as you have some security measures in place it doesn’t matter if someone knows a username of an admin. To feel safe create an account you use for the front end and keep the admin account for only accessing the admin.
Add a plugin like this one https://wordpress.org/plugins/sucuri-scanner
Use strong passwords.
In reply to: Restricting Lapsed/Expired Membershow are you tracking the time of the membership? have you added a membership plugin?

In reply to: [Resolved] Posting Links BP Activity StreamBP use bp_activity_filter_kses to filter out somethings. This filter allows links but the link could have stuff on it that is not valid. Can you post the link here that is getting blocked?
Also plugins can filter this function. If you any activity plugins or plugins that alter wp_kses it could be issue.
