Plugin forums have been removed. This is no longer a place for support for third party plugins. legacy forums can be found on the front support page.
This issue with using plugins to create such a specific site as you wish is that you are placing bets on if a plugin will continue to work or be supported. This is why I suggest you may need coding skills.
If its my plugin, read instructions. You need to edit template files

`Use WordPress a page template and hard code a BuddyPress group loop in the page template. Create a WordPress page in the admin. You do the same thing when you created those pages when you install BuddyPress. BuddyPress just overrides the page that gets loaded with it’s own template which is why you don’t have to create the page template yourself.
In reply to: Guided Tour PluginThis type of thing would have to be theme specific so i dont think you would see a plugin for this.
Anything can be acomplished given the skills. This would require custom code.
Look through the BuddyPress code. The core components extend a class BP_Component. You extend this class to create your own components. In folder bp-groups you can see how the groups component is being created and use it as an example.
In reply to: How to make Profile fields visible only to admins?You can choose the my friends option to at least block all fields to a users friends. You can also look over @boone code to add your own visibility options. https://github.com/boonebgorges/bbg-custom-bp-field-visibility
Its not really a membership plugin. It turns your site into a social network where users can sign up get profiles, groups and discussion forums. There are many plugins that add additonal features.
In reply to: How to make Profile fields visible only to admins?Go into the wp-admin Users > Profile fields and change the visibility options to profiles fields
In reply to: I’m working on the activity stream, need help!look at the record activity function http://pastebin.com/kNqTrRzc
In reply to: I’m working on the activity stream, need help!`function my_friends_only_activity( $query ) {
$friends_id = bp_get_friend_ids( bp_loggedin_user_id() ) ;
$query = ‘&user_id=’ . $friends_id ;
return $query;
}
add_filter( ‘bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring’, ‘my_friends_only_activity’ );`In reply to: I’m working on the activity stream, need help!You get user id’s with code not manually.
`bp_get_friend_ids( bp_loggedin_user_id() ) ; `
In reply to: I’m working on the activity stream, need help!Not too difficult. You can filter activity stream by passing a comma seperated list of user id’s. just get logged in users friends id’s. read the codex on how to filter loops
In reply to: I’m working on the activity stream, need help!There is no activity privacy feature in 1.7. Google friends only activity stream. I think a plugin already exists. You can look through plugin as an example of code
In reply to: Side bar on mobilesFluid layouts will squish on small screens. BP-default has some responsive design. If you are not using bp-default then you will need to contact the theme developer about issues with sidebars. If you are concerned about mobile you should use sliders that are responsive.
`I expect that I should be allowed this privilege solely on the basis that I am willing to do so`
I’m using this in every job interview from this point on. *snort
explain more about your set up. multisite? using custom themes? plugins? Sounds like you are using template pack on various sub sites, yes?
Going over that team link which I had totally forgot about. Some good info. I am moving this thread over there. I have a suggestion to get it rolling. https://codex.buddypress.org/team/
I wasn’t trying to sound dismissive. There are many users of BuddyPress that can easily contribute on the user side of documentation. My statement was in regards that my time is better spent on development of features/plugins. When I have free time I write in the codex.
If you are using the BuddyPress template pack then deactivate it.
In reply to: How do I create pages for each of my groups?You use the groups extension API https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/group-extension-api
what @hnla said plus I want to add we should use the WordPress codex as a template on how to structure the content. People are familiar with WordPress and it makes sense to display the content as such.
In reply to: [resolved] Online shop for each profilein the custom theme folder it is most likely missing the create.php file in the blogs folder
@mercime We had a team but it fell apart after a few weeks. I think it’s because there was no leadership. It was a do anything to help approach and that seems daunting. WordPress has loads more people on development/documentation and that is the reason this codex is behind. Just not enough people/time to get it done. We should bring this up during the dev chat.
