In reply to: How do you ‘manage’ members?
In a few days I’m updating BuddyPress Verified plugin that will help manage users
It’s possible.
This is not possible. I created a profile menu plugin. search WordPress.org for it
In reply to: Make activity items non-searchableYou can do this via robots.txt file
User-agent: *
Disallow: /activity/In reply to: It’s bad when the *project* site is broken…This is not a typical BuddyPress install, the usebase is tied into WordPress.com and there was an update to WordPress a few months back and it broke this site so they fixed enough to get site some what usable.
It’s taking longer to fix this site because John Jacoby is adding bbpress forums. Bare with the breakage now and get better support later with refreshed and enhanced forums.
In reply to: separate register and profile fieldsSounds like good enhancement/plugin
In reply to: It’s bad when the *project* site is broken…Guys, do not us this site as an example of BuddyPress quality. It’s being updated to something completely different and better. It’s a custom BuddyPress site.
The example site for BuddyPress is http://testbp.org
In reply to: User Posts Without Admin PanelNo not really, search for same topic and you’ll find many hacks, also you could try the gravity forms plugin.
In reply to: Direct POSTs between friends that remain privateNot to sound crass but isn’t that what private messages is for?
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaGlad you got it working, and just to put it out there, when you edit default and not thoroughly understanding what your changing can cause problems later.
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaSwitch theme to bp-default and test, could be a child/custom theme issue
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaYou can, like is said before, once you start changing things from default it could be any issue that could make plugins non functional. I have the plugin installed on a default bp install dev.buddiphone.com and it works perfect.
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaThose files in the privacy plugin folder are not referenced
In reply to: How do you switch old users from WP to BuddyPress?Anyone signed up to a blog as a subscriber is automatically a BuddyPress user when you install BuddyPress
go into database
click wp_users
find user
change user_status to 1This may not remove activity updates but it will hide the user from member list and hide profile
In reply to: How to Share/Repost Friends’ Status/Activity?I’m adding a repost function in next version of my share it plugin
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaIt could be a child theme problem, try deleting home.php in your child theme and just edit the one in the BuddyPress plugin folder
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaIs profile.php default? I had moved code edits to home.php
In reply to: Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user metaNo way to tell since you edited default pages. Try reverting members/single files to default.
In reply to: Changing log in menu-item (buddypress 1.5)remove action bp_login
create you’re own function for login then add action
Then, remove it from sub themes
In reply to: Changing log in menu-item (buddypress 1.5)What about putting the remove action in the sub domains functions.php file?
Just read you don’t want to edit home.php. There isn’t a filter for privacy like there is with messages for showing profile sections. Messages and xprofile fields has logic for output and can be filtered but the actual page needs a code edit.
Install BuddyPress Profile Privacy plugin
In reply to: Changing group displayYou need to create a language file and change the text you want.

In reply to: How collect personal dataIn the admin under BuddyPress menu there is a section “profiles” you can add more fields for users to fill out at sign up . These are not hidden, you will have to come up with your own solution. Hiding fieldsis on the development road map. There is also BuddyPress profile privacy plugin.
