Figured it out. To manually do this you need to go into your database and put this in your wp_sitemeta table under the field active_sitewide_plugins:
a:2:{s:24:”buddypress/bp-loader.php”;i:1254779318;s:12:”bp-album.php”;i:1254851888;}
FYI, the new update instructions don’t work. If you follow these instructions you might get a blank page so make sure you do your backup of your database before running it.
Because everything is white page, I have to manually activate BP. How do you do that via the database?
No, I’ve asked that question already. They want to make this site unique. Makes sense…
I get the same message. I have created the API Key and Secret key but still not working properly. I get the same page not found error. I don’t think this is working properly for 1.1. But with that said it is working on the BP demo…
With regards to the API, have you seen the API setup page? Holy crap, it’s got all kinds of questions for the API and I don’t have a clue what what 90% of them are.
socialpreneur – This is a forum for asking questions related to Buddypress and this is related to Buddypress. If you don’t know the answer can you please not respond with those types of responses. A bunch of us are all new to this and not sure and it’s a bit frustrating when someone like you post replies like that. Buddypress and MU work hand in hand and therefore people need to know and that is why they are here. We are asking questions because other people are using Buddypress and they might have the answer or a fix for what we are asking. So, that is why it is the right place to ask the question.
DJPaul, thank you for posting the link to the post on the “BuddyPress” site.
I’ve searched over there already. Can’t find anything that can be used to disable that email activation.
And why not? Everything else is free…
So do we have a realistic time line for BuddyPress for WP?
Just giving this a little bump to see if someone has a solution for this… Sorry if i offend.
And where is that downloaded?
Spoken like a true moderator…
Is that patch in the latest version of MU?
hyrzz, show us. Because I don’t believe it.
Burtadsit, I’m confused. Are you saying that WP plugins work in BuddyPress? If that is true then I just don’t see it. The Plugins link in the admin doesn’t show plugins. Where are these plugins viewable at or am I missing something?
FYI, I’ve tried these plugins in the plugins folder and the mu plugins folder and don’t see any admin for them.
I’m using Contact Form 7, WP-Ecommerce plugins.
May the swartz be with you!!!
So, are you saying that there is a version somewhere that will work now? Because I’d love to test it. I have a dedicated server and the current ver of WordPress. If you got a download then I got some time to test…
Where can we get more info on this? This could possibly be huge. Just for the fact that most people who use wordpress aren’t that technical. So, if anyone has any data on this project I would like to see it.
Thanks for letting the cat out of the bag this is HUGE!!!
Don’t we all need to vent a little. Just in a nice tactful way. If you could elab more on the trunk stuff then I might know where to look to try to get a better handle on plugins. I have two main plugins. Contact From 7 and Wp-Ecommerce. If someone could point me to a place that can show me how to do something, that would be cool. That being so cool, then no need to vent…
Yeah, i get that but that doesn’t change the fact that the plugins just don’t work in MU. In particular WP-Ecommerce (WP Shop). I’ve installed MU on 3 different occasions and the same thing happens on all of them. The plugins don’t work properly. Hence the reason for wanting the themes in WordPress.
MU and Buddypress work just fine when you don’t have any plugins installed.
