| About Me | Andrea Baquero, Pianist and music teacher, has taught music for over fifteen years and has performed as a pianist and singer around the world. In 1996, while still a teenager, Andrea began her career as a music teacher at the International Yamaha Music School and the Piccolo Academy of Music in Bogotá, Colombia. There she taught piano, solfege (note reading), ear training, choir, singing, harmony, and introduction to music. Since then, she has continued her formal training as well as her work promoting and educating children in the world of music. In 2005 she received her undergraduate degree in Classical Piano and Music Education, followed by an MA in Journalism in 2007. After arriving in New York City six years ago, Andrea studied Inclusive Education. She graduated in 2010, and developed an at-home piano lessons program and a Spanish-Music “Mishake” program for New Yorkers. Besides teaching private and group piano lessons, Andrea teaches in different public and private schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan. |
