In reply to: Oembed and shortcode tag???just like adding the filter do_shortcode to the content you want to act on – you can add more to the kses for allowedtags via filter as well.
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasTweetstream doesn’t work with my forums with this plugin enabled…
I hate to sound like a broken record but I spend more time replying ‘more details please’. I can’t help you if you don’t provide any details, configuration, steps, etc. Unless I break out my magic buddypress dust so i can go ninja style inside your server.
Someone posted up a tweetstream issue a few pages back. Though I don’t know what the resolution is (i don’t use the plugin and can’t since twitter revoked my api access because of it)

In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum Extrasdue to the ajax and the forum loop – in the admin page for the index, select the other option and it will stick on every filter.
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasGood points and probably why I left out the replying (nested+) out of activity comments on forum post – may lead to some confusion.
But on the other hand – I see it as layering the topic discussion whereas when topic discussions tend to go OT or branch into several topics. Could be an easy way to break off and utilize the stream like a pseudo forum.
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasI don’t believe there is a solution for tinymce + quoting as ajaxquote expects the default textarea to be there. tinymce writes it into an iframe – you may be able to change the javascript to account for this but i’m not sure. personally i use markitup.
@dennis_h
alright! i’ll look into the blog component – logic should be the same.
I was looking at this the other day as I noticed a sort can be passed in – but it seems the sort is only applicable to the date_recorded on the parent activity item.
$activities = $wpdb->get_results( $wpdb->prepare( "{$select_sql} {$from_sql} {$where_sql} ORDER BY a.date_recorded {$sort} {$pag_sql}" ) );(then which append_comments is called to add in the activity replies for each parent activity item)
Though that was a quick look – maybe Andy can chime in if there is a proper way.
I almost think there needs to be a date_modified col which is updated when activity item has a comment – with some option to sort on that and bring it to the top.
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasI assume it means you can reply to a forum post from the Activity stream
Not exactly but close – a little more basic: checks the activity table for the “new_forum_post” then pulls out threaded activity comments and then displays the comments below that forum post.
For this to work
Disable activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts?:needs to be set to No.but if there are problems – i’ll probably need some debugging info as this works on the default template
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasIs it possible to make this just one plugin with a series of options/components (a la Buddypress it self) instead of 10 plugins?
I didn’t realize this would grow into a bunch of small plugins – i’ll look into changing it up
do you have a demo-page in order to see your plugin in action ?
I’ll set one up this weekend
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum Extrasjust change the values in the bb_forums.forum_order col
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum Extrasdid you enable the option “Display Group Avatar next to forum name”?

Are you logged in? See a button view the activity posts?
Confirm the activity for that post has comments?
Check the html source for:
<ul id="activity-stream-postwhich is written in for each activity itemIn reply to: Is this how it is meant to work?First, I just found a small bug and fixed it in the trunk – you just need to update the file:
bp-forum-extras-activity.phpSecond, make sure you add the theme edit (detailed on forum extras wp-admin page)
The comments appear directly underneath the post which has the activity. It pulls in all replies for the given post (so threaded). It will work for any backdated activity comments – whatever it can find for the given group_id and post_id (item_id)

In reply to: Is this how it is meant to work?Expected behavior as activity commenting and forum discussion are separate. (only a one way tie-in when a new post/reply is made and the content is sent to the activity stream). You can disable activity commenting on forum posts/topics and blogs postings.
I updated
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-forum-extras/
which now includes an activity subplugin -> will pull in activity comments made to a topic post (no reply ability but at least someone can see the conversation from the stream)
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum Extrasfound the error with activity and quote being enabled at the same time (what i get for copying code and not changing the wp_enqueue_script name param. (give it 20 mins or so to update in the repo to 0.2.1)
In reply to: [New Plugin] BuddyPress Group Forum ExtrasYou can tweak the timeout/sensitivity with hoverintent in the js file
2. Instead of disrupting the page layout with an expanding div, do an overlay div like snap,
i have a firefox extension that does an overlay pop-up div to preview a thread – the problem is determining the pop above or below the link depending where it is placed on the page (and scroll), for some reason I was unable to get this to work properly across all browsers for this plugin. (i think chrome has issues with scrolltop?)
So the div methods meets my needs – if someone out there wants to code in a proper div with that requirement working then i’ll add it in.
1. Instead of making the whole title “hot” for the mouseover, append a small mouseover [preview link] to the end of the topic title.
a preview button would be nice – though with the way i’m pulling data and passing it along – it was easier to use the a href.
Bug report: Activating ‘BuddyPress Forums Extras – Activity’ kills Quoting on my install. Same issue existed with 0.1.9b3.
oh bugger – i didn’t even check this. i’m able to reproduce it so i’ll get a fix up today.
Not sure what ‘Activity’ is meant to do, actually, so I’m not too worried — just wanted to check it out.
Well this is just a ‘in theory’ plugin – so if a forum post has some sort of activity stream replies/comment on it – you can view those comments directly from the forum thread (or be aware what is being talked about in the activity stream)

In reply to: group default avatarusing @r-a-y ‘s super simple method

function my_default_get_group_avatar($avatar) {
global $groups_template;
return '<img src="http://locationtomygroupdefaultthumbimage.gif" class="avatar" alt="' . attribute_escape( $groups_template->group->name ) . '" />';
}
add_filter( 'bp_get_group_avatar', 'my_default_get_group_avatar', 1, 1 );replace with proper src attribute (no idea if that works – just typed it up) – this only replaces the big thumb though, the smaller thumb on the forums index is filtered on
bp_get_the_topic_object_avatarIn reply to: group default avatarI am also looking for the same function. I set the default avatar for users, but also would like to set the default avatar for groups if possible. Is there a way to do this?
You could hook on groups_create_group with a function to handle some default avatar for the group.
Otherwise the avatar process is the last step in the group creation process – one could remove that step and create your own (have a look at my restrict group creation plugin for the code on this) – maybe have some sort of default selection of avatars.
Oh and say hi to Ryan for me.
