@nuprn1 This video pretty much describes it all. I’m not sure what the fix would be, but I know that when I’m editing a forum post on BuddyPress.org the escape characters are removed.

First of all I would change it back to the “full name” field until you figure this out.

I was actually under the impression that WordPress 3.0.1 stopped working with Dreamweaver CS5. Have you verified that this is a BuddyPress-specific problem?

Whenever someone posts a link with a # sign the #hashtag plugin kills the link by converting the part after the # into a #hashtag link.

FYI for anyone using this plugin or considering using it, the latest version of the plugin now has an option within in the plugin menu. So you no longer need to edit anything inside your bp-custom.php file or functions.php file.
