In reply to: Wp-login.php custom screen plugin?There’s a premium plugin at Buddydev that works very well:
In reply to: Modifying / Customising the registration process@Iain Manley
Here’s a clue…
http://buddydev.com/forums/topic/move-registration-to-index-page#post-4235Just checked your site again and it seems setting the z-index of ul#nav to 0 messes up the subnavs in your main navbar.
Setting it to 1 solves that.
Sorry… my bad
Another suggestion, if I may…
IMHO, your main nav would look better if all menu items were on the same line (rather than seeing “About MyMythos” bumped to a 2nd line).
In /themes/aperture-NEW/style.css, go to line 252 and edit the padding like so:padding:0 8px;
The problem is the nav ul which, regardless of what it looks like on screen, is actually sitting at the top of the header. The z-index is set to 9999 so it interferes with everything else.
In your /themes/aperture-NEW/style.css file, go to line 244 and set z-index of #nav to 0.
Your adminbar subnavs will display properly.In reply to: Changing dynamically created titlesGlad I could help
In reply to: Changing dynamically created titlesSee the bottom of this page in the codex:
https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-site-administration/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginEditing an event creates this error:
Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /www/htdocs/w00b8ce6/test/wp-content/plugins/buddyvents/core/bpe-screen.php on line 586But, click browser “Back” button and “Events” tab, event edits ARE saved.
Also, apostrophes aren’t escaped and generate forward slashes after each save.
In reply to: Buddyvents – New Events PluginI like the way you “whipped one up”, with geocoding to boot!
It’s simple, elegant, and has all the required elements. Nice touch with the date picker too
Creating an event and uploading an image is a snap.Noticed 1 thing not working though: “Show new events” activity filter displays “…no activity” message.
Darn… now that I’ve created an event, I wanted to edit it, but I can’t access the site anymore… EDIT: never mind that…it’s back.
Like @Mike, can I “get my hands on it” too?

Sorry my workaround isn’t working as hoped… the easy solutions aren’t always the best

Perhaps Elgg would be more to your liking…
In reply to: Search through forum and blog posts/pagesHere’s a great tutorial for a global site search:

In reply to: Arrowchat – Facebook Style Chat Bar+1 on that plugin idea!
phpfreechat looks like one of the most customizable scripts out there.In a multisite install, the only drawback to an out-of-the-box install of phpfreechat is that it requires its own page… meaning users can’t chat and surf the network at the same time. Docking it at the bottom of the screen, and making it independent of pages would eliminate that problem. Plus, the available global params would make customization by the superadmin a whole lot easier through a backend admin panel.
How about starting a group to keep everyone updated on the progress… when you’re ready, of course
In reply to: creating a new page with a chat scriptphpfreechat looks easy enough to install and customize (css, avatars, etc).
The only major drawback I see is that it requires a page in order to work; meaning that users must remain on that page to chat.
In a network or multisite install, even a basic Buddypress site, a chat system needs to be independent of pages so users can visit other sections or network sites/blogs while they chat.
In reply to: Modifying / Customising the registration process@Iain Manley
How about this workaround:
1 – Create a page template and copy the content of your register.php file to it.
2 – Create a blank page in WP using that template. Eg: my-custom-home-page
3 – Under “Settings” > “Reading”, select that WP page as a static page at “Front page displays”…Now your front page IS your register page. Next… @Brajesh at Buddydev has coded a cool activate/login/redirect plugin that can do the rest:
I’m sure you could tweak the code of that plugin to redirect to the “edit profile” template rather than the “Public” view.
Hope it works!

That would be the item-list-tabs. Try this:
div.item-list-tabs {
border-bottom:0;
}To target stuff like that really easily, install the Firebug addon for Firefox.
Ah right… I think that “Bulk Action” only becomes available in WP3 if you have enabled Multisite. And not too sure if WP-Activate is compatible with Buddypress. Here’s an auto-activate plugin that is compatible with WP3 single:
http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-premium-plugins/plugin-bp-auto-activate-auto-login-redirect-to-profile-automatically-activate-your-new-user-signuplog-them-in-and-redirect-to-their-buddypress-profile-on-signup/It’s a premium plugin, but the small fee is well worth all the cool stuff @Brajesh puts out almost weekly. He’s also a great help if you ever get yourself into a coding kaffuffle.
You can also test the plugin here:
http://plugins.bpdemos.com/bp-auto-activate-auto-login-wp3s/In your WP dashboard, go to “Users” and check the box next to the name of the user highlighted in red. Then, select “Not Spam” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown (top or bottom of your user list). Click “Apply”. Should do it.
