What did you do that made it work?

hmm.
If you created the .po file and the .mo file you should have named it so that it now says buddypress-mysite or buddypress-new . I named it buddypress-new.po and buddypress-new.mo
do everything else the link says.now go into you wpconfig file.
Go to and edit

so that it says define(‘WPLANG’, ‘new’)New because I…[Read more]

Ah, now this makes sense. Thank you very much! This is another awesome feature of BuddyPress. Keep up the good work.

PJ started the forum topic Possible to have a member's default avatar as a QR code URL to their profile? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 13 years, 8 months ago
A few members on my site don’t like the mystery man logo. I know how to customize it, but I was wondering if this is possible… Is it possible to have BuddyPress or a plugin automatically generate the member’s profile URL as a QR code for their avatar unless they upload a photo to replace […]

@Gayatriom @gayatriom I haven’t tested it out yet. This appears to be the BP info page for it:
https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/Let me know if this works for you.
Thanks.-
Hey I did this, but then had to change the call to the language file in the wpconfig file!
It worked! -

It definitely is a BP issue to some degree.
@meini , I haven’t found an answer yet. I created a ticket at https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/3098

I’ve never been able to have the plugin successfully work and I sincerely hope I can overcome this error because it seems like a great plugin. I follow all the instructions to the letter and still haven’t had luck. Twitter brings the following lengthy error message after I authorize it: `Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Zend_Oauth_Exception’ […]

https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-xtra-signup/ may work However, another option would be to add a line of code that asserts that if a user proceeds in creating an account, they agree to your Ts and Cs. Find
registration/register.php
and add text to line 198. Surround your Ts and Cs url with a link for users to view it before […] -
PJ posted on the forum topic Will Domain Change Affect Buddypress? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 13 years, 9 months ago
I think as long as the SQL database is paired/updated correctly, it may work.
If you’re unsure, try setting up another buddypress install + SQL db on xxxxx.com then move it to yyyyy.com and see if it works before you switch your main site.

Good suggestions @modemlooper and @boonegorges .
I have WPMU (thankfully backed stuff up) went to 3.1 but noticed a few hiccups and rolled back to the previous version. I’m going to wait until a few things are resolved before I use it on my live sites. -
PJ started the forum topic GPS/checkin + Buddypress in the group Creating & Extending: 13 years, 9 months ago
Are there any GPS or geotagging features that work with BuddyPress? I tried GPress but it couldn’t connect to Foursquare for whatever reason. Is anyone using GPS or checkin features with your site(s)? If so, what works well for you? Thanks.

PJ started the forum topic Possible to automatically add a Twitter and RSS feed to one's profile? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 13 years, 9 months ago
My site currently lists RSS and Twitter URLs, however, the users would like a way to have both a few Tweets displayed on their profile and a few RSS items from their personal blog. Does anyone know how this can be done?

PJ started the forum topic Fit BuddyPress into an iPhone app? in the group Creating & Extending: 13 years, 9 months ago
@modemlooper ‘s BuddyPress Mobile plugin/theme is wicked good but I’ve had some people ask for the site in an iPhone app (smh, I know). Has anyone found a way to sneak BuddyPress snugly into an iPhone app? If so, how did you do it?
Thanks,

PJ posted on the forum topic Host Gator vs. GoDaddy in the group BuddyPress Hosting: 13 years, 9 months ago
Godaddy is woefully inefficient. If you want to have a cheap web 1.0 site you don’t update, go for it.
If you want zero hold time, live chat with support, unlimited bandwidth/hosting, and an admin interface that’s faster and more sensible than you’ve ever seen, go with Hostgator. 🙂
