There is actually another article:

BP doesn’t play nice with IIS. Not with PHP 5.
I haven’t read of the missing $wpdb variable before. Do you get any errors with just a plain install of WP 3.0?

If you’re the admin of your WP site, you should see a “My Blogs” menu in your BP admin bar (located at the very top).
Mouseover this menu and find a link called “Dashboard”. Click on that and you should be good to go!

The bp-default theme is missing the comments_template(); function call in page.php.
You can add this yourself!
Copy over /bp-themes/bp-default/page.php to your child theme and add:
comments_template();just before the endwhile line.

By default, you are allowed to use a limited set of HTML tags like and . What type of tags are you wanting to use but can’t? You could write a small plugin to either remove these restricting filters or expand the whitelist of allowed tags, but you have to have trust in your group […]

Welcome to BuddyPress!
First of all, are you installing a fresh WordPress install with no prebuilt theme? If so, make sure you have BuddyPress activated, then in the WP admin area, navigate to “Appearance > Themes” and enable the “BuddyPress Default” theme.

Silly question, but you do have BuddyPress activated on your site right? This is one of the first things that is fired when you have BP activated.

@hnla – “Troubleshooting 101” sounds like a good, FAQ sub-page! Want to get it started? 😉
I’ve started work on a FAQ sub-page called “Specific FAQs“. Feel free to contribute!Re: PHPDoc site – It appears that site is referencing BP 1.3-bleeding.

It could be a problem with your server. However, this most likely means you have a broken link on your site.
Check your theme for broken images, stylesheets, etc.If you have access to the server error log, you can find out specifically which file is the culprit.

What do you have listed in your first profile group?
And yes, Paul is correct, you can modify the registration template in your child theme — /registration/register.php — to add additional groups. You just have to modify two lines in that template for this to work.

Okay, just re-reading this again. I don’t think you should use bp_core_signup_user().
For your custom script, you can try using wp_insert_user() and then add in the extra profile information later.Or, you can try using the Import From Ning plugin, which also works with CSVs:

Did you create separate profile groups? If so, only the first profile group will be displayed on the registration page.
If you want to add all fields to the registration page, you have to add them all to the first profile group.

This is line 566:
if ( !$domain = wp_cache_get( 'bp_user_domain_' . $user_id, 'bp' ) ) {It sounds like you’re using some type of caching on your site. Try turning it off to see if the error goes away. The function where this line resides — bp_core_get_user_domain() — only outputs a link to the user’s profile. […] -

@elizawhat – You need to finish your upgrade from WPMU to WP 3.0 properly.
Read and implement everything listed here:

Do you have a file called “buddypress/bp-loader.php”?
I would deactivate BuddyPress and all other BP plugins. Then I’d reinstall BuddyPress from scratch with a freshly-uploaded “buddypress” folder. Also make sure to turn off any caching plugins you may have enabled.

Excellent. That’s the one. Thank you. For some reason, some plugins do not show in a general list of “buddypress” plugins, including this one.
