Re: parenthesis – on a member’s profile, by default it will show the member’s display name followed by the @username.
eg. John Smith @johnsmith-
So, in my mind, it’s not necessary. Of course, you can always change this by altering your theme.

r-a-y posted on the forum topic forum-attachments-for-buddypress / bb-attachments errors in the group Creating & Extending: 15 years, 6 months ago
The bb-attachments table wasn’t created properly.
I remember this bug when it was a bbPress plugin. You’ll have to manually create the table yourself in PHPMyAdmin (hopefully you have access to that!).
Here’s a post on the bbpress forums with the SQL query you need:

r-a-y posted on the forum topic Replace Activity Stream blog excerpt with the_excerpt in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 6 months ago
That would work as well!
Though, you’d have to grab the excerpt either through a DB query or some WP functions (I suggest the DB query only if you’re using Multisite). -
r-a-y posted on the forum topic images in streams in the group oEmbed for BuddyPress: 15 years, 6 months ago
You can post images using the regular IMG HTML code without any plugin.
eg.

What I thought you meant was typing in a link to an image which will automatically transform into that image when posted.

Make sure BP is activated sitewide.
Then use a forums loop:

My plugin is only a parser for WordPress’ oEmbed service. WP doesn’t support Picasa, so neither does mine.

r-a-y posted a new activity comment 15 years, 6 months ago
My oEmbed plugin doesn’t really have anything to do with blog posts, since oEmbed is already a feature in WordPress!
To use with BP Groupblog, you’d need to enable the embed feature on each groupblog:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds#In_A_NutshellYou could probably set this with the WPMU New Blog Defaults…[Read more]

I see what you guys are talking about now with bp_create_excerpt()!

@nit3watch – You have to remove the following hook:
add_action( 'bp_after_group_details_creation_step', 'gfield_add_field_form' );Also remove the conditional that Derek put in.
Here’s the updated code, no need to add any filters:

@nit3watch – It looks like you’re only hooking into the save action after the group is created.
Try adding another save action with “groups_create_group_step_save_group-details”:
add_action( 'groups_create_group_step_save_group-details', 'gfield_save_field' );See if that works.

More Ivyou’s post doesn’t have any relevance to this thread; I believe he thought this was a WordPress 3.0 thread. modemlooper, I have already upgraded to WP 3.0; there are no problems with the plugin with WP 3.0 (that I’ve found!). I have a beta of the new oEmbed plugin working on my local install; […]
