It’s because the registration function only looks for lowercase usernames.

BP is not a forum script; it’s social networking for WordPress. If you’re just looking for a forum, try integrating bbPress.

@pcwriter – Doesn’t work for profiles at the moment. I guess I could look into adding x-profile support, though I’ll probably disable it by default.
