In reply to: Plugin to require strong passwords
It should be quite easy to pull the WP password strength indicator from the WP admin profile page.
Or even try using a jQuery plugin like this one:

In reply to: Display recent group topics in sidebarIf you’re comfortable with the loop, check out the bp_has_forum_topics() function located in /buddypress/bp-forums/bp-forums-templatetags.php.
Unfortunately this isn’t documented in the BP codex, but if you check out /bp-themes/bp-default/forums/forums-loop.php, you should have a good idea of how to construct a recent topics loop.
Hope that gives you a few pointers to go on.
Bump up your memory limit to 96M or higher and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you’ll have to contact your web host to increase your PHP memory limit.
In reply to: Footer FeedbackValid point… maybe when a forum post is displayed, the footer can show a bbPress backlink?
Contact the BP dev team on IRC (http://java.freenode.net/?channel=buddypress-dev) or add a ticket to Trac (https://trac.buddypress.org/newticket).

In reply to: Strange behavior in forum post freshnessAhh okay… gotcha. Ignore what I wrote above then!
In reply to: Is anyone using the Genesis Buddy Child Theme?Make sure both “Genesis Buddy” and the Genesis framework is uploaded to /wp-content/themes/.
You should activate “Genesis Buddy” (the one made by andrea_r and wpmuguru) and not the Genesis framework!
This should be your expected result:
In reply to: Strange behavior in forum post freshnessIf the activity works and it’s only a forum thing, it’s probably a bbPress bug.
Just a guess, but perhaps it’s caused by how bbPress is saving the time to the DB? Haven’t looked into it to verify though.
In reply to: Is anyone using the Genesis Buddy Child Theme?Activate the “Genesis Buddy” theme only. Make sure you have the Genesis framework uploaded before you activate Genesis Buddy.
In reply to: Is anyone using the Genesis Buddy Child Theme?1) Yes, you need to upload both the Genesis framework and the Genesis Buddy Child theme in order for Genesis Buddy to work.
2) Read this: http://premiumbpthemes.com/about/child-theme-integration/
3) If you need to make changes to Genesis Buddy, you’ll probably need to make them to the Genesis Buddy child theme. Contact andrea_r for more details.
In reply to: Buddypress FAQ?If you’re talking about a user introduction to BP, then no.
Everything on codex.buddypress.org is geared to developers.
Though you could probably check any site that is powered by BP, chances are a BP-powered site will have a FAQ guide somewhere.
In reply to: Problem with bp_has_members and search_termsClosing this thread due to it being a duplicate of the following:

Please post follow-ups in the link provided above.
In reply to: Activity returns a wrong userYou have a javascript conflict.
Try disabling a few of your plugins that use javascript.
In reply to: “Auto Group Join” plugin addedThis has been reported to work on BP 1.2 by a few users:

In reply to: All okay except no BP admin barGlad you figured out!
Sorry about not being specific
In reply to: All okay except no BP admin barIf you do not see the wp_footer() line anywhere in your theme’s footer.php, add it just before the </body> tag.
In reply to: All okay except no BP admin barDo you have a call to wp_footer() in your themes’s footer.php?

It’s not the best thing to install WPMU in a subdirectory when you’re using a subdomain install.
Is there a valid reason why you’re not installing WPMU in the root?
Also because you installed WPMU in a subdirectory called “blogs”, it is conflicting with the BP_BLOGS_SLUG, which by default is also called “blogs”.
Either install WPMU in the root, or install WPMU in a different subdirectory name or try renaming your BP_BLOGS_SLUG to something else to “user-blogs”.
To rename the BP_BLOGS_SLUG to something else, add the following to wp-config.php:
define ( 'BP_BLOGS_SLUG', 'user-blogs' );Re: the blog title, change that yourself by using this function:
echo get_bloginfo('name');In reply to: Duplicates in Ativity StreamThere’s no such feature as “post to main blog” in WPMU.
Sounds like you’re using a MU plugin.
In reply to: \”Load more\” bugA ticket has already been created about this problem:
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2000
Hopefully it will be resolved in a future version of BP.
Hmm… can you check to see if the bbPress database is using some variation of utf8?
Also try looking through some threads on bbPress.org:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/internationalization-after-installation
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/wrong-charset-cannot-specify-utf-8#post-3751
Would be great if you posted this on Trac, stwc!
In reply to: Displaying a Global Album Activity StreamThat’s a third-party plugin.
Please contact @foxly or @francescolaffi for feature requests.
Ahh… didn’t read the thread title! You said it works for activity items and not forum posts! D’oh!
Try creating a new forum thread on testbp.org using a different language and see what happens.
Then report back.
It shouldn’t be because I’ve seen international languages (including Japanese) posted on testbp.org.
Does it work with the default theme?
Have you set your meta content-type tag to utf-8 in your template?
