BuddyPress 3.0 dynamically loads up the registration page content when it lands on the registration page.
Depending on how PmPro is loading their overrides, they might need to do it at a later juncture than before. Tell them to load their code on
'bp_init'or later.In reply to: Activity Load More Not WorkingThanks everyone for their reports.
This only affects the BP Legacy template pack. I’ve added a ticket for this here – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7896
The workaround above is fine for now, but here’s my potential fix for this – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7896/7896.01.patch
In reply to: Settings on profile not showingWhat theme are you using? Have you tried changing your theme to a WordPress default theme to see if that fixes your problem?
In reply to: Description GroupsThis is a known bug with the Nouveau template pack.
Keep track of https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7895
In the meantime, you can use the Legacy template pack by navigating to “Settings > BuddyPress > Options” and selecting Legacy.
In reply to: Read activation key in activate.phpRead the “Activation key is empty when a user clicks on their activation URL” section from the link vapvarun posted.
Upgrade to BuddyPress 3.1.0 and view the section under “Activation email problems” for more details:
In reply to: Activation emails not being sentThe next release is scheduled for next week.
In the meantime, replace
bp-core/bp-core-functions.phpwith the following:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/buddypress/BuddyPress/master/src/bp-core/bp-core-functions.phpThen, go to the admin dashboard and navigate to “Tools > BuddyPress” and check the “Reinstall emails” option and the activation email template should be installed.
In reply to: Fatal Error when tempting to reach “email options”In reply to: Asking for activation link after emailBuddyPress changed the way it activates users in v3.0.
The activation key should be auto-populated in the Activation Key field if you did not override the template files in your theme.
If you overwrote the template in your theme, you need to alter the activation template file to match the new changes.
See here for a fix:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/activation-is-not-visible/#post-273341In reply to: Groups and forum issueYes removing these two lines should be okay:
// Old group forums elseif ( bp_is_group_forum() ) : bp_get_template_part( 'groups/single/forum' );In reply to: Groups and forum issueIt’s related to BuddyPress deprecating some forum functions and not loading the deprecated code properly.
In the meantime, check your theme’s
/groups/single/home.phpand remove the conditional tobp_is_group_forum()and that should fix your problem.The “Order By” filter is only available with the Extended Profiles component.
This is a v3.0 reported bug:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7845There is a workaround fix listed in the ticket description.
In reply to: Go back to 2.9.4 (issues with 3.0.0)@knowitallninja – There are a couple of other instances of
groups_record_activity()that needs to be replaced.See https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7870/7870.02.patch
In reply to: Go back to 2.9.4 (issues with 3.0.0)Thanks for confirming and finding the bug. I’ve created a ticket here – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7870
BuddyPress currently doesn’t support the WordPress default bio fields for the Extended Profiles component.
There is a ticket that might add this functionality in a future version:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7162In reply to: Go back to 2.9.4 (issues with 3.0.0)Thanks for the report, @knowitallninja.
Sounds like a bug. It seems like you do not have the Activity Streams component active. Can you confirm?
If you do not have the Activity Streams component active, can you activate it on the “Settings > BuddyPress” page temporarily until we can address this issue?
It looks like there is a bug where the activation email post is not created for new installs using single-site.
I’ve reported the bug here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7869The fix can be found here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7869/7869.01.patchOnce you’ve added the fix, go to “Tools > BuddyPress” in the admin dashboard and select “Reinstall emails”. This should add the missing activation email post.
In reply to: Activity page buttons not workingI just went into my dashboard and clicked on the update button for the BuddyPress activity php
I don’t know what that means. It might be possible that your version of BuddyPress 3.0 is corrupted. Deactivate the plugin and try reinstalling the plugin.
You can also try leaving BuddyPress deactivated to see if your dashboard problems disappear. If your problems are still there after deactivating BuddyPress, that means it isn’t a BuddyPress issue.
Notify the Invite Anyone author:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/invite-anyone
https://github.com/boonebgorges/invite-anyoneI did a quick test and Invite Anyone works with a WordPress default theme. Sounds like a problem with your theme, but I’m not sure how BuddyPress 3.0 would break that change.
In reply to: Error messagesYou’ll have to debug your
bp-custom.phpfile and check where thewp-load.phpcall is occurring.Then, you’ll need to fix it so it uses the correct absolute filepath.
In reply to: Activity page buttons not workingI took a quick look at your site and it is generating 500 errors when posting via AJAX.
Can you turn on debug mode by adding the following to your
wp-config.phpfile?
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
Then attempt to post an update and check your server’s
/wp-content/debug.logfile for debug messages?In reply to: 502 bad gateway error using BP login widget@eric01 – Can you try the following fix?
