    Thanks Nicola,

I’ll be patient :) I must say you are a busy chap. I look forward to seeing more of your plugins in the future and can’t wait ’til you get the bugs tested on the extra group functions plugin (I really need this one!).

    Thanks for the swift reply.

    Hi Nicola,

No, I want to block users from writing on wires or forums etc. Is this possible?

    Cheers,

No probs chief, I’m still not really that ‘au fait’ with php. Just as well there’s a great community here with people like you, Nicola Greco and Burt Adsit always willing to lend a hand. Thanks once again :)

Nicola, that’s brilliant! If you could upload a version to the bp-dev site asap that would be astounding (I have no idea how this SVN thing works – tried it, maybe it’s me!).

I’ve got a client who needs this on their site pretty soon y’see :) If you know of anyone making a plugin for age verification for sign up i’d be grateful if you could post details here, you seem to be the man ‘in the know’.

    Cheers,

    Hi Trent, I found it!!!

It was in the bp-(*insert core, groups or blogs here*)/directories/bp-(*insert core, groups or blogs here*)-(*insert core, groups or blogs here*).php

Easy when you trawl for the answer LOL :)

    Cheers for your help!

Sorry Burt, I was away for a while.

What if I copy the main BP templates from the RC1 version and add my own css & images etc. should this work?

    Cheers,

    Hi Burt,

Thanks for getting back to me. I upgraded the themes but i’m using my own themes, I read on the forum that you have to copy functions.php for them to work and I did this. It worked yesterday fine but today when i tried to edit a group I created it went tits up :( I’m no php techie by any means so if you can show me where and how to fix this i’d be greatly appreciative.

    Cheers,

    Phil

    Hi John,

    I GOT IT! Eventually LOL.

I did a bit of digging on the forums and saw this thread https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=471&page=2#post-5680 – I didn’t realise I needed to be logged in to both BP & BBPress to do this. Once I saw DJpaul’s first post on this thread the penny dropped.

Thank you for all your help – everything works a treat now!

    Best regards,

    Phil

    Hi John,

I’ve tried this and it didn’t work, it just makes me unable to login. I had this same problem earlier in the day until I used that PHPSESSID cookie. I’d be appreciative if you could email me on phil {at} reprocessor dot com so that I can send you a screenshot – I think it may be the way that firefox is presenting cookies (It’s alot different to the last version of FF I used and that’s only a jump from 3.04 to 3.06.)

As I said, any help at all would be greatly appreciated, as it’s driving me up the wall!

    Cheers,

    Phil

Right, I’ve done points 1 to 4, added the salts and added the COOKIE_DOMAIN & COOKIEPATH bits to both config files. I also added a cookie hash which the tutorial said to do. How I got the cookie hash is another story – the tute said to look at the cookies in firefox to see what the number after them would be, like this ‘wordpress_267dtwia78rfn5403n’ when I went in to look at my cookies the looked like this ‘wordpress_’ so i took the nearest number from a PHPSESSID cookie for my site – now, this is probably the stupidest thing I’ve done all day – so please let me know if it is. Also If you could let me know if there’s any other way of finding out the cookiehash.

Sorry to waste anyones time :(

Would I have to put the salts in the BBpress config file also? They’re not there at present.

Nope, how would I go about doing that? I’m on a shared host here in the UK and they’re not fantastic at giving away info – i’m a bit of a n00b when it comes to servers, php and mysql :(

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone done anything more with this bug? I’m not getting anything when I click the rss link on any page – it takes me to a blank page e.g. http://sitename.org/activity/feed

I’m using the beta 2 download of buddy press and have it integrated with MU 2.7 svn. I updated everything (from scratch) on Friday as I broke my integration with BBpress for the forums on the first install.

BTW, RSS didn’t work the last time I installed it either – i was running the last version of MU 2.6.5 and god knows what svn of BP – I’m using both firefox 3 and IE7 if that makes any diff? I also have gears installed.

I just tried this in Safari and it returned this error:

‘Safari can’t open the page “http://sitename.org/members/membername/activity/feed”. The error was: “unknown error” (CFURLErrorDomain:302)’

    I hope that helps?

Cheers (and thanks for an AWESOME piece of kit!)

    Phil
