Yes: child-theme of bp-default.
child-theme/header calls child-theme/style.css and child-theme/custom.css
child-theme/style.css imports bp-default/style.cssSo if I remove the background property from, say div#container in child-theme/style.css, it gets that background from bp-default. Then if I add the background property to…[Read more]

@rogercoathup Any chance your client will let you release your work as a GPL plugin?

@pcwriter – The function posted by @rogercoathup was used to get rid of the “view” link and the steam on TheChemBook has an added reply button for forum posts using the function found in this forum topic: http://etivite.com/groups/buddypress/forum/topic/how-did-you-add-the-view-blogpost-button/#topic — this directs the browser to the forum topic…[Read more]

@rogercoathup Any clue on how I could modify the plug-in to fit Buddypress 1.2.5.2 ? Or how to create one ? I don’t need anything fancy, I just want to offer my buddypress’s user the choice to choose in which language they want their buddypress functions. What plug-in used Marco Rossi ? Very nice site by […]

@rogercoathup Thanks, apparently this plug-in is only working until the version 2.9.2 of WordPress.
Do you know a plug-in who could offer the user the choice to choose the buddypress’s function language ?

I agree: those permalink views are a pain in the butt. Can you clue me in on how to remove the links?

I have found code instances of specifying one filter, but I have been unable to find code instances (or examples) for combining more than one filter. Can anyone give me a lead or show an example of how to combine more than one filter? I would be deeply indebted.

@rogercoathup Thanks but this will be applied to all the blogs ? My buddypress is on a secondary blogs. And I just want to offer the users the choice to translate the functions in their languages. I have found something who could really fit my needs but I can’t make it work : https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fw-quick-langswitch/ I’ve installed […]

Thanks! Immensely helpful.
When members visit one of their friend’s profiles and don’t immediately see stuff they and others have posted to that friend, it makes it hard to build any interest in the site as a place of social interaction.
I will be working on this. Thanks again!

A quick reply to both of you 🙂 The Tricks that are being submitted should have a source and are checked by me. For example the quick tip snippets form looks like this:

Hi @rogercoathup, Woow you almost make me feel guilty now! You make a few valid points, and I think the “problem” is that bp-tricks.com currently shows a big homepage offering my theme, while the actual community is not yet online. This might give you the impression it’s purely about business and making profit, and that is […]

@rogercoathup We’ll probably have a “full featured” set of templates with all the options set on the admin menu, plus a set of “pro” templates that are just a skeleton implementation plus tons of comments and examples. Did you notice we added an admin menu option that lets template designers “import” template configurations, setting all the […]

@rogercoathup They’d never make it that easy… 🙂 The core BP templates are spread out all over the place. There must be 40 or 50 core and sub templates. One thing that helps when editing large sites is to put a:
global $template_debug; if($template_debug){echo "members/single/plugins.php";};
…just before the footer in each template file. When…[Read more] -

@rogercoathup “Do you want to allow all blogs to have their own choice of theme, but ensure that they use the same font for the admin bar?”
Yes, this is what I wanted, apparently it’s not possible but at least I can set up the background to look the same on IE and Firefox.

@rogercoathup I’ve put the buddypress-fr_FR.po in bg-language but I’ don’t see where I cant set the default language in buddypress ? I haven’t look yet at a plugin for offering the user a choice to switch language.
