Actually, just found an AMAZING plugin from rich here:

Takes pending activations through the real process of activation, leaving you with no unused keys in the wp_usermeta table. Highly recommended but support stops for it by BP version 1.3.

@DJPaul Cheers Paul, I’ve just tried it and it indeed works. the only thing it bypasses is creating the activity stream entry that user ‘x’ became a egistered member. Everything else looks like it has been created just fine.

Technically all of that is possible but it wouldn’t be included as default in a standard BP template. You could easily get a theme designer/ developer to build most of the functionality there though. I have found a workaround this issue by editing the subject line of the activation email by a simple function found here!

The plural is indeed needed and should go after the s if referring to more than one actor. If the apostrophe went after the r it would only be referring to a network belonging to one actor.

The network belongs to multiple actors thus the apostrophe has to go after the s.

@virtuali sorry mate, the HTML above was interpreted correctly by this site thus it looks fine above.

The apostrophe doesn’t come out as an apostrophe in the subject line of my activation email.

It actually comes out as & #039;

I’ve changed it in my original post to reflect this problem properly

I’m thinking this is perhaps a WP issue? Does WP handle the activation email and BP handle the password rest, or are tey both handled by WP? It’s odd that the apostrophe shows fine in the password reset email but not the activation email.

Great plugin that still seems to work well with BP 1.2.8, however there is a small bug.

The topic moves great but the old activity stream entry is left behind, pointing to the old group.

Is there any way this could be changed so that it modifies the activity entry?

@hnla My host has just set domain keys and SPF records for my account which is great but I can’t seem to find info on a PTA record. Could you give me some more info?

Hi guys,

I’ve checked out over half a dozen sites for my server’s IP being blacklisted and it isn’t on any lists at all.

However Hotmail insists on placing my activation emails in Junk.

Anything I can do about this?

Deleting users from the BP admin bar does however clean the site of activity and forum posts. I guess this behaviour needs to be linked in with the WP dashboard too.
