Thanks @mcpeanut. Hoping someone will help out.
Can nobody help me?
Thank you. I have moved hosts.
Bump! Would really appreciate a hand with this.
RESOLVED : Found the answer here : http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/44863/whats-the-easiest-way-to-change-the-default-landing-page-for-buddypress-groups
Yes I’d really love some help on this. When I paste in Andrew’s code on the previous page, I get the error …
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘;’ in /home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/xxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php on line 7
Ummm….sorry, I’m a little confused. It seems buddypress.org and testbp.org have *new* admin toolbars on the front page, whereas my site has an old one on the front, and new one on the back end. Again, is this how it should be?
Thank you!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, I expected to get an email to say the forum post had been replied to, but obviously not.
Cheers,
Rob.Update – if I go into this student’s individual blog posts, the toolbar is back.
Thanks Paul, but I don’t to correct their words, I want to highlight them so that the kids can see they need to learn how to spell those particular words.
Is there a plugin where you can highlight words in a blog post without going into the post?
Phew! I solved the problem. I first deleted the BuddyPress Default 1.1.2 theme, then deleted BuddyPress, then reinstalled BuddyPress, which gave me the new default theme, which has restored all the links and the admin toolbar.
I am one very happy and relieved man.
Thank you LPH2005 and paulhastings0 for your assistance; much obliged.
I should be a little more specific in my problem. The theme I have going is the BuddyPress Default 1.1.2 theme. This used to work fine, but now the admin bar no longer works and all the links to the main blog, forum, groups etc etc are down.
Just tried that. The theme that gets loaded is BuddyPress Default 1.1.2 . Is this what it should be?
Which folder should the buddypress plugin be in? It’s currently in /public_html/thenorthschool.com/wordpress-mu/wp-content/plugins
Just tried via FTP. Still no good.
Please help!
Yep, did that. That’s how I got here.
If I can just install the new buddypress theme with a functioning toolbar I’ll be ecstatic.
Update was automatic. I don’t think I have a caching plugin – would that be through wordpress?
