    @latinosamorir

    In that case, you can always put this in the functions.php/bp-custom.php and it will fix the issue

    `
    add_filter(‘bp_get_add_friend_button’, “friend_fix_bp_button_bug”);

    function friend_fix_bp_button_bug($button){
    if($button==’is_friend’)
    $button=false;
    return $button;
    }
    `

    Edit: I posted wrong id, updated now.

    take a look at this
    https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2780

    it is fixed in 1.3 branch but not in 1.2 branch. You can modify the the friends-template tag or just hook to the filter to correct it.

    Is this topic resolved or still an issue. Sorry, I could not follow up.

    The problem is if a plugin is using register_setting and asks the options.php to save plugin data. It will be broken in the multisite. The problem is most authors leave the the plugin option menu registering code and setting register code in same function. so if you change the admin_menu to network_admin_menu, the settings will not be registered and you will have trouble.

    Look for the code which registers setting and hook it to admin_menu, then change the form action from options.php to echo admin_url(“options.php”);//yes, I am writing it admin_url.
    and then you can try saving the data. the data should be saved.

    There is a simple fix for the problem with saving data.
    Look for admin_url and replace with network_admin_url, also, if there is something hard coded like site_url(“wp-admin/something.php”) change that to network_admin_url(“something.php”) and it will be solved. to sum up, all the urls pointing to wp-admin should be generated via network_admin_url for the compatibility with wpms 3.1

    have you used the get function bp_get_total_group_count_for_user(), as I said earlier, the bp_total_group_count_for_user does not return a value. so use bp_get_total_group_count_for_user

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    have you tried the passing user id to the bp_get_total_group_count_for_user(), do not use bp_total_group_count_for_user(), it just echoes the count.
    like
    `
    bp_get_total_group_count_for_user($user_id);
    //or if inside member loop you may o this
    global $members_template;
    $total_group=bp_get_total_group_count_for_user($members_template->member->id);
    `

    For using @djpaul ‘s method you need to know group Id. That is best suited when you are on a group page or you know exactly which groups you want to check.

    Put this in your functions.php

    `
    if ( bp_core_is_multisite() )
    remove_action( ‘wp’, ‘bp_core_wpsignup_redirect’ );
    else
    remove_action( ‘init’, ‘bp_core_wpsignup_redirect’ );
    `
    That should do it.

    Easy way, On wpms 3.0.x
    Disable the blog signup from SuperAdmin->Options ->Registration Settings
    and select the second option (User account may be created). If you are on the wpms 3.1, you will have to go to NetworkAdmin->settings->Registration Settings and do the same.

    On your users request, you can still create an account as you are the site admin.

    put this in your themes functions.php

    `
    global $bp;
    if(!is_super_admin())
    bp_core_remove_subnav_item($bp->groups->id, “send-invites”);

    `
    That should do it.

    Thank you Jose and Patrick for the kind words. Since I checked the forum here today and to my surprise found the topic I thought I would clarify.
    @migraine. no, this plugin does not support categories inside group forum. It rather allows a separate forum(but coupled with BuddyPress), so It is not what you are looking for. It allows to have independent forum/subforums etc, but does not add multiple forum within the group.

    Hi,
    The reason it is happening perhaps hide_sitewide is not set to 1 for private activity. Most probably a conflict with some plugin as you already mention above. Can you check the database activity table to confirm that ?

    Have you put the code
    `
    define(“BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT”, “profile”);
    `
    In wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php, It will make the profile accessible if put in bp-custom.php. yes,it simply change the default profile component(landing page on profile) from activity to xprofile.

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    Hi,
    The private updates on group should not be visible to anyone other than the profile owner. It means something is wrong, you should check other plugins.
    btw, yes, you can remove the activity section from profile. put the following code in your theme’s functions.php

    `
    global $bp;
    bp_core_remove_nav_item($bp->activity->id);
    `
    But this will make the profile inaccessible, as activity is set as the default profile component. so you may want to put the following code in bp-custom.php
    `
    define(“BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT”, “profile”);
    `
    hope that helps.

    If you are on single wp, upgrade to wordpress Multisite.
    Then you can limit it from Super Admin->Options->Limited Email Registrations

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    Ok, here is a css solution.

    #wp-admin-bar ul li#bp-adminbar-authors-menu{display:none;}

    It will remove that for 100% sure if you put it at the bottom of the child theme css.

    but I still believe that drop down has something to do with some other plugin, as your bp-core-adminbar.php says it as “Blog Author” while the list says “Shop Owners”

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    Thanks for pointing to the site. It seems by checking the code, that link is not added by the buddypress but is added by some other plugin. Can you name that plugin, since we need to get rid of an action hook associated with that plugin.

    I guess I am mistaken somewhere, do you mean the blog authors menu, if yes, then It will remove that “blog author” and the drop down completely. If you meant something else, then I may be mistaken.

    @sbrajesh

    Are you sure you made the appropriate change and put the correct blog id in the conditional. I just tested it on my second blog with id 2 and the code in bp-custom.php, It worked. Please make sure to put correct blog id in the “if…” condition.
    And do not change the priority of remove_action, leave it as it is.

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    Put this code in your bp-custom.php or child theme’s functions.php

    add_action("init","bpdev_remove_author_link");
    function bpdev_remove_author_link(){
    global $current_blog;
    if($current_blog->blog_id==12)
    remove_action( 'bp_adminbar_menus', 'bp_adminbar_authors_menu', 12 );
    }

    I hope that should do it.
    You can change that 12 to any blog id in the line if($current_blog->blog_id==12)

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    or you can keep in bp-custom.php, if you hook it to init action.

    add_action("init","remove_autop_filters_from_activity");
    function remove_autop_filters_from_activity(){
    remove_filter( 'bp_get_activity_content_body', 'wpautop' );
    remove_filter( 'bp_get_activity_content', 'wpautop' );
    }

    Actually, the remove filter should be called after the filter is actually added.

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    btw, if you are not concerned about the aspect ratio, you can simply pass width and height(I guess you already know about it :) )

    @sbrajesh

    @crashutah
    That’s a good point. Incase we want different size for groups and members the only good way is to override the “bp_core_avatar_handle_crop” and may be in extreme case “bp_core_avatar_handle_upload” and that will give you enormous flexibility.
    After overriding it, we can filter on “bp_core_fetch_avatar” and that will be all we need.
