hi
For your first question, you may want to try this plugin
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-registration-options/
checkout this thread too
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/moderate-members/For the second, yes, It is possible. Just go to SiteAdmin->Options and select the radio box which says only logged in users can create blog.
PHp5 may be an issue, better why not ask your server adminstrator to upgrade.Have you moved the template files to your current theme. It seems you have not moved the template files from bp-events to you theme.
Move them to your theme and the links will work.In reply to: BuddyPress Default theme for bbPressWow! Nice work, That looks cool!
In reply to: New Plugin: Rescue Me From GroupsWell, The plugin was just a small hack, as I could not see any filters to accomplish what Greg wanted. So, I hacked around status to get rid of that.
About forums being part of group, I believe it should be better left to the site owners to decide and not to force them of a particular structure. Options are always better, so If possible, It would have been great to give the site owners the options.
Now about Plugin features.
It is easy to add an option to allow group admins to select whether to allow non members to post or not, I can add that easily. The difficult part id muting the text “You will auto join this group” as It is theme based and sniffing on gettext is not what I prefer as for something small as this the overhead will be too much.May be we can request @apeatling and he may provide easier options like filters for disabing/enabling auto joining and a filter to mute the text.So this hack will no more be even required.
In reply to: Profile FieldsIf you mean the User entered data, it is available on their profile not inside the wp-admin. You will need to visit their profile to see the data.
In reply to: How do I find the Group_ID ?The
bp_get_group_id()will only work if you are on group page.In case you are not on group page and want to know the group id, there is a way to find that, but you will have to know the group slug(check the url of group for slug)
$group_id=BP_Groups_Group::get_id_from_slug($slug);where $slug is the group slug.
In reply to: Custom Login Page in BuddyPressYou are most welcome. Please make sure to mark this thread as resolved
In reply to: Custom Login Page in BuddyPresshi there
there was an extra
)by mistake on this lineif ( $bp->current_component != BP_LOGIN_SLUG) )It should be
if ( $bp->current_component != BP_LOGIN_SLUG)Then put login.php in youractive-theme/registration/login.php and check out,. it must work.
btw, are you putting the code in bp-custom.php or somewhere else?
In reply to: Custom Login Page in BuddyPressIt will redirect back to home page if you are logged in as a logged in member should not be able to access that page.
Try to logout and then visit that page.
In reply to: Custom Login Page in BuddyPresstry this one
define("BP_LOGIN_SLUG","login");
function bl_setup_component(){
bp_core_add_root_component( BP_LOGIN_SLUG );
}
add_action( 'bp_setup_root_components', 'bl_setup_component', 2 );
//handle the screen
function bl_screen_handler(){
global $bp;
if ( $bp->current_component != BP_LOGIN_SLUG) )
return;//return the control back
if(is_user_logged_in())
bp_core_redirect(bp_get_root_domain());
//load template
bp_core_load_template("/registration/login",true);
}
add_action("wp","bl_screen_handler",3);Put a template file login.php with the form in your registration folder and it will work as you have mentioned.
In reply to: Sub blogs display name of home blogif I understood it right, You wanted to change the links in the topbar(which is not visible to me because it is not visible to non logged in users), and if you are talking about that topbar, then the code should work.
In reply to: Sub blogs display name of home blogno, It should go to bp-config.php or the functions.php of your theme.
In reply to: Sub blogs display name of home blogGald It worked.
I see you have buddypress Installed on main site /center and enabled on the blogs using the config.
so, that’s why, It is showing the main site.
anyway, you can manage that using conditional like this
<?php
global $current_blog;
if($current_blog->blog_id != BP_ROOT_BLOG){
//remove action which was registerd by buddypress
remove_action( 'bp_adminbar_logo', 'bp_adminbar_logo' );
}
//add your own action here
add_action( 'bp_adminbar_logo', 'my_blog_logo' );
function my_blog_logo() {
echo '<a href="' . get_bloginfo('home') . '" id="admin-bar-logo">' . get_option('blogname') . '</a>';
}
?>That should do it.
In reply to: Members Area
In reply to: Sub blogs display name of home blogThis is a problem with the theme you are using.
Change the line in header.php saying
<?php bp_site_name() ?>to
<?php bloginfo('name');?>and It will work as you want it to .
In reply to: How to hide “Base” group in the edit profile panel?no problem, You are most welcome
In reply to: Members AreaYou will need to enable permalink.
Please login to wp-admin and go to settings->permalinks and change the permalink structure. As far as i see, it seems you are single Wp and your permalink is not enabled. For buddypress, It is required to be different than the default. Change it to anything other than the default and It will work.
hope, It helps.
In reply to: How to hide “Base” group in the edit profile panel?hey, you are most welcome.
well, you will need to edit registration.php
here is my take on it.
it will list all the fields from all the profile groups,and allow users to fill them. so please beware of it.
http://bpdev.pastebin.com/RLreXE7X
If you want to restrict to 1 or two profile groups, change the argument from
bp_has_profile( )In my edited code and it will work
And a little bit detail, I have removed the argument for bp_has_profile( ), so it lists all profile groups and then put then collected field ids in an array, which is passed via
hidden field ‘signup_profile_field_ids`
In reply to: How to hide “Base” group in the edit profile panel?hi Gene
how about this one then
<?php global $bp;
if(bp_get_current_profile_group_id()==1)
bp_core_redirect($bp->displayed_user->domain."profile/edit/group/2");
?>At the top of edit.php and removing the old code.
but please note, the base field will be never editable and will not be shown, when ever user will click on edit base field, he will be redirected to edit the second groups field.
let me know what do you think
well, try changing
WPINC . '/registration.php'to
ABSPATH . WPINC . '/registration.php'In bp-core-settings.php line 41. that should solve it .
In reply to: How to hide “Base” group in the edit profile panel?hi Gene
You are most welcome. That may be a mismatch of tags.
get the complete code for edit.php here
http://bpdev.pastebin.com/SP6eWZDq
hope it helps
In reply to: need help with get_all_page_ids functionyou should use
print_r($test);
// orvar_dump($test);
`
Not echo, echo will always show empty array for arrays.
In reply to: How to hide “Base” group in the edit profile panel?Simply, create a child theme, copy the members/single/profile/ edit.php to
yourchild-theme/members/single/profile/edit.php
Now modify it slightly,
Like put his before the first line of edit.php
<?php if(bp_get_current_profile_group_id()==1)
>
<ul class="button-nav">
<?php bp_profile_group_tabs(); ?>
</ul>
<div class="clear"></div>
<?php
locate_template(array("members/single/profile/profile-loop.php"),true);?>
<p><b>Your Username is your identity and We hate to see you changing your identity, so our computer has decided to disable editing it for you.Please Edit all other data in your profile as you wish
</b>
</p>
<?php
else:?>and at the end of Edit.php put this line
<?php endif;?>Now go and check your profile page.
please let me know if it works or not
In reply to: Registration on different pagePutting this one inside form should make it work
<?php wp_nonce_field( 'bp_new_signup' ) ?>In reply to: Pending Friendships Count?yup, you can use
<?php bp_friend_total_requests_count();?>to show the request count for logged in user
