In reply to: Mapping the xprofile fields
The BP Maps for Members creates member maps based on data from the BP xProfile Location plugin.
And it includes support for the BP Profile Search plugin.In reply to: Direct link to edit profileIf you need to hard-code a profile url, you can use me in the url and it will take a logged-in user to their profile.
For example:
http://yoursite.com/members/me/
Example url to profile edit:http://yoursite.com/members/me/profile/edit/group/1/In reply to: Best way to create a private area (as an intranet)Another lock-down option is: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-simple-private/
However, if you just need some private pages & categories, then you don’t need BuddyPress at all unless there is some interface aspect that requires profiles.
If you aren’t using profiles, then there are probably some WP plugins that do what you want.
Or, the custom WP code to accomplish is quite simple – if you are a WP dev.In reply to: Get the current page URLTry using a function and a hook.
Your approach probably won’t work in the loop.
And definitely will not work in bp-custom.In reply to: Get the current page URLI think the issue is the context of your call; somehow related to an ajax call.
Are you using a hook?In reply to: Get the current page URLTry using
bp_get_requested_url()In reply to: Group Photo UploadBuddyPress does not sell anything.
I’ve suggested some basic debugging, but you know best.In reply to: Group Photo Upload> I have the rt media plugin as well
Deactivate it.
If the issue does not persist, then file a report with rt media.In reply to: Activate user in PHPIf you haven’t already, google this string ‘buddypress auto activate user’.
It will provide at least some hints.In reply to: Stop Participant creating new topicsPlease ask your question on the support forums for bbPress.
The problem is in the theme.
It is calling a function that was removed in BP 3.0
Call to undefined function bp_is_user_forums() in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/moview/members/single/home.php
You should contact the theme authors about this obvious issue with their theme.In reply to: Activity page questionsBy ‘general public’ you mean visitors who are not logged in?
If so, why not hide entirely all user profiles.
Assuming that your register page slug isregister, something like:function cstango_redirect_to_reg() { if ( ! is_user_logged_in() ) { if ( bp_is_user() ) { bp_core_redirect( site_url('register') ); } } } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'cstango_redirect_to_reg' );Place the code in your theme > functions.php
In reply to: Profile view tab is not displaying profile detailsDid you try some basic debugging? Checking error logs etc?
https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUGDid you try deactivating s2Member Pro and see if the issue persists on reg?
Did you try deactivating BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field Types and see if the issue persists?
Did you try switching to a different theme and see if the issue persists?Your issue is almost certainly due to your setup or some combination of plugins and/or theme.
It is highly unlikely that it is due to BP.In reply to: permanent link of user pageYou cannot do that, afaik.
But if the site is ‘closed’, then set up a special page and redirect any non-logged-in users to that page. iow. do not allow viewing of profile pages if not logged in.
BP does not use user_meta in the profile fields.
To set BP profile fields use xprofile_set_field_data.In reply to: Archive SettingNot that I know of.
But your question is about bbPress.
The forums for bbPress are here.In reply to: Trying to get property ‘show_avatars’ of non-objectIt’s just a notice, not an error. No need to worry.
It’s a known issue and will be fixed in the 6.0 release of BP.
More info: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/8177You will need to hack the email subscription plugin and add some code to BCC the email to the address in that custom field.
It is very unlikely that anyone on these forums can or would provide that code.
The closing semicolon was not in the code section.
I have edited my answer.
If you don’t need to consider portability, then you can hardcode the prefix.
UPDATE wp_bp_activityLearn how to debug in WP and you can answer most of your own questions.
https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUGYour query throws an error. Did you check your logs?
And you don’t need theglobal $bpglobal $wpdb; $wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( "UPDATE {$wpdb->prefix}bp_activity SET content = replace(content, %s, %s)", 'thing1', 'thing2' ) );Try putting the code that sets
$ic_filter_members_interest_idin bp-custom.php or in a separate plugin.And put it in a function that uses a BP hook.
function set_ic_members_var() { //set your global var here } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'set_ic_members_var' );It sounds like the issue is with your variable: $ic_filter_members_interest_id;
Have you confirmed that it is being set? If it is not, then this is not a BP issue.
function ic_members_filter( $retval ) { global $ic_filter_members_interest_id; echo '<br>ic_filter_members_interest_id: ' . $ic_filter_members_interest_id; return $retval; } add_filter( 'bp_after_has_members_parse_args', 'ic_members_filter' );In reply to: Meta query count for Buddypress Group MembersYou don’t need the
meta_queryin your example.You can use one of these classes:
buddypress\bp-core\classes\class-bp-user-query.php
buddypress\bp-groups\classes\class-bp-group-member-query.phpUsing the former class is more verbose but maybe easier to follow at first:
function group_members_counter() { $args = array( 'group_id' => 1, // bp_get_group_id(), or pass in a group id 'exclude_admins_mods' => false ); $group_members_result = groups_get_group_members( $args ); $group_members_ids = array(); foreach( $group_members_result['members'] as $member ) { $group_members_ids[] = $member->ID; } echo 'group member ids: ' . implode(", ", $group_members_ids); if ( ! empty ( $group_members_ids ) ) { $args = array( 'include' => $group_members_ids, 'meta_key' => 'action_one_total', 'meta_value' => '88', 'populate_extras' => false ); $members = new BP_User_Query( $args ); echo '<br>matching meta count: ' . $members->total_users; } else { echo 'There are no group members.'; } } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'group_members_counter' );In reply to: Fatal Error of BuddyPress after updating WordPressTurn on WP DEBUG and check your logs for more info re how the function was called that results in the fatal error.
There is probably something on your site that calls the function before BP is finished init.
In reply to: Deleted pages to test ultimate member…deleted the related pages.
Did you try creating pages with the slug that you want and then assigning them to BP components thru the wp-admin > Settings > Buddypress screens?
