@djpaul: this problem arises regardless of whether i’m using a default theme or a modified theme with the buddypress template pack. is there a trick i could use to identify the source of the problem… perhaps a tool to troubleshoot javascript performance with buddypress activated?

Same problem here. Reading these forums, I’m seeing a good number of fellow people in this predicament with scant direction on how to troubleshoot it.

I have the same issue running WP 3.0 and BP 1.2.5.2

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled BP without any luck. Which BP database tables should I look for to verify whether or not they’ve been created?

Thanks. Everything seems to be in order from the server side as far as I can tell. mod_rewrite is on, PHP version is 5.2.9 and the MySQL is 4.1.22 . Wish I could figure out why Buddypress throws up an error when I try to make groups, send a message, or a host of other useful functions. For running Buddypress, does it depend on running PHP 5+ and MySQL 5+ ?

I should add that my PHP version is 5.2.9 and the MySQL API version is 4.1.22

I figure everyone with a similar problem just gives up. Is there any more information I can provide that would be useful for helping me troubleshoot my installation?

Perhaps there are some tables that BP should have created in my MySQL database… I don’t see any. Nor can I find any documentation on what there names would be.

Please try again.” when submitting a group name in the “Buddypress > Profile Field Setup.” On the front end, I tried to post an update from my account.
