@techguy she also posted in the multisite forum. She only has one network, not looking for multiple. And she’s trying to have it show on a blog other than the main site.

“If you have any links that don’t point to an ssl page, then it will give you that error.”
Doesn’t this create an impossible loop? If I put an https link from my payment page back to the home page, then the home page will give the same unsecure error.

@techguy Thank you for your reply. Yes I indeed did bbpress enable. Unfortunately the back end seems to work but in terms of user navigation and experience it is still not ultimate yet.

@techguy Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m hoping to avoid. Not because it wouldn’t work, but it just gets messy.
It seems silly that a “universal” field like a profile field wouldn’t update it in all circumstances across user profiles. Why is that?

@techguy trying to figure out if I fall into the “many other people” category.. I have one install of WordPress MU with 3 blogs, one for each of my 3 domains (domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com). Username and passwords are shared across all 3 domains. I want to add Buddypress. How would that work? A single Buddypress site […]

Does that mean links in the body, sidebar, or everything? If it’s everything, I’m basically going to have to create a page template with no header, footer, or sidebar, right?

thanks for the update @techguy. I think I’m okay with spam also, but just want the text “Check your email for activation” to stand out.

@techguy Yes, we’re aiming both at consumers (as a resource) and real estate pros (as a networking and blogging platform) – Great advice to make that more clear.Ditto with the realtor page. We do care about consumers, but it has been a challenge to aggregate content in a way that makes sense for them. A magazine-style […]

When I wrote the plugin, I wasn’t thinking about external plugins!

@hnla, @techguy Hi, I really appreciate your input in this thread, sure gives some nice insight on how to handle a growing buddypress site. Before I’m ready to move on to a dedicated VPS, can you or anyone else write or point me towards a checklist or any how-to resource on how to move a buddypress installation […]

@techguy so you’re turned off to a business because they have an affiliate program. no you’re putting words in my mouth , that’s not what I said 🙂 There is a slightly sleezy connotation to affiliate programs as many see them as a means of making some easy money and suddenly sites spring up all over the […]
