Initial problem was caused by the hide_new_member_activities_from_unlogged_users filter callback when Post comments are synced with Activity comments about the correponding Post activity.

I have a patch ready and it will soon be fixed.

As you will see, it looks like some custom code/plugin is filtering the $activity_type to be an array instead of a string.

I believe most errors were notice errors as we deprecated a lot of functions in 12.0.0. I got in touch with @r-a-y he will review my PR soon https://github.com/r-a-y/buddypress-followers/pull/126 and we’ll work on making the plugin a new BuddyPress Add-on.

Thanks for pinging me about it @teeboy4real. I confirm what @jamesosborne replied. Webp support has been added into BuddyPress 11.0.0. Don’t hesitate to test the beta to check it will solve your issue.
