About Me | I became interested in web development in 1999 when I was just 12 years old and came across a book at a Wal-Mart titled, “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Creating Web Pages.” I convinced my mom to buy it for me, and I consumed all 500 pages that night and was creating web pages the next day. Back then divs and spans didn’t exist and HTML was supposed to be typed all in uppercase. I moved on to JavaScript, Perl, and eventually PHP which is what I use for most of my work these days. I work as a web developer for a company in Rocklin, CA doing mostly WordPress development. |

WordPress Origin Story | Up until mid-2014 I had very limited experience with WordPress. Then I got a job working for a company that mostly dealt with WordPress. Somehow I convinced them to hire me, even though I didn’t know the first thing about developing in WordPress. However I learned quickly and have come a long ways. I helped create Kalatu Blog which is a viral blogging network based on WordPress. During this process I developed several WordPress plugins, and have since decided to start contributing to the opensource WordPress community by developing some of my own plugins in my spare time to release. So far I have only developed a few very basic plugins, each one took less than two hours to develop, but soon I will be both updating plugins I have already released and also releasing more complex plugins that I hope will help some bloggers or WordPress developers out there! |
