that’s an interesting idea.

i could imagine lots of interesting metrics. posts, messages, group activities, even wordpress related things like posts. Anything that makes activity basically could make for some very interesting ways to measure a site.

i don’t think stability was ever an issue with multisite. i think the issue is that being a more complex situation it is easier to have things go haywire as an admin. multisite maybe overkill but if you want different themes or domains for each “site” than i would say multisite is probably the way to go.

if the theme was designed for budddypress then i would ask the theme developer for help if it wasn’t then something is wrong because that link should be showing up already.

it should already be doing that out of the box.

that shouldn’t be possible something definitely seems up with your installation at least to me.

sound like a great feature suggestion for 2.0 if you ask me.
