I basically want a combination I guess.
One where the main site is a social based one where users can interact etc, but then to have a method by which to give users their own personal blogs as well yet still be part of the main site.
I built a site like that using joomla once. The main site was all social but each user could create their own blog independently as well.
I think my question is not coming across as I want it to.
First, I did do as you suggested when I built a test site. Even then, I didn’t see any option for users to create their own blog during or after account creation.
Either way, my question is more along the lines of asking if both types of sites can co-exist as one single site.
Right, so, when I pick the Activity menu item which appears to be public, as soon as I click on it, two options show up, Post in (My profile, or groups) and Post Update.
Er… now it’s working again. What the???
I posted without picking either choice and my post was made public. Before that, not only would it not go public but it was just plain lost. It didn’t show up anywhere.
I guess I should also mention, the install is on a dedicated server running newly installed debian 6.0 squeeze. There are no other applications or much else running on the server so resources aren’t an issue.
I have to believe this is a known problem because like I say, I tried two different ways of updating, one updating wp only and the other, updating most of bp only.
