So I posted the same support topic over at wpmudev.org and they advised me to ask you about this issue, whereby Andrew stated:
“Sounds like they’ve figured out how to bypass a step or two in the signup routine.
Probably best to mention this on the buddypress forums so they can look into it.
Thanks,
Andrew”
Does this help?
the two members on my site that created buddypress profiles without me being notified are ndcom.com/members/Garamoff/ and ndcom.com/members/poifyipsyhold/, since these two, I’ve received about 3 other buddypress profiles where I, as the admin, didn’t receive notification.
How is this possible and is there a remedy for it?
Thanks,
N
you can check the members who made it through and on to the site without me being notified: http://ndcom.com/members/Garamoff/ and http://ndcom.com/members/poifyipsyhold/, since these two, I’ve had about 3 others like them whereby they make a buddypress profile and I don’t get the notification.
Burt,
Thanks for the reply. When myself, friends, or family create a profile to test the site, I always get an email as the administrator.
But over the past few weeks, I’m getting individuals creating buddypress profiles and upone further research into my database, I track their email addresses back to health supplements, pharma drugs, and porn sites. I don’t receive an email notification when these buddypress profiles are made.
Currently my settings are as follows, where the second choice with the “X” is selected.
Disabled
X Enabled. Blogs and user accounts can be created.
Only user account can be created.
Only logged in users can create new blogs.
Wondering how can they create buddypress profiles, without me getting notifications?
Thanks,
Ninh
Andy,
Is the script above a means to change the blog avatars in BP. I’ve seen the trac ticket for it, but is this the “temporary” workaround?
Thanks,
Ninh
Nevermind, fixed it. It was a function call. Got help from drmike and Andrewr at wpmudev.org, now I have to do this to all 100 themes. Actually, 99 more as of this writing.
Hi all. I have the Toksta plugin on my site ndcom.com. The video and audio chat is pretty cool and doesn’t lag. The site doesn’t lag with this plugin either. My brother and I are developing this site for friends and family to stay connected.
However, I do have one problem. Everything works as it should, BUT if I have a video/audio chat with my brother, his avatar doesn’t show up (mine doesn’t show up either on his end). Instead, it’s the default image of a blue messenger icon and it has my brother’s name underneath. How can I get the Toksta plugin to pull the Avatar(s) of the people registered on my site?
Yep, found the problem. It was my php.ini file. I went to my error log manager on the dedicated server and told me what was wrong. Oh, went I meant, copy-over, it was with the use of the “Migration Wizard” on my interface, but yes I did check for missing files and did a fresh install anyways to cover all my bases.
Thanks all.
Ok, got GD2 library installed, got ImageMagick installed (as they both were installed on my shared hosting side); still getting same problems, “unable to upload photo, missing temp folder”
I also checked permissions – from what the various forum posts state, they are all correct. Also checked my php.ini file, seems correct as well.
What I’ll be doing is checking to see when I copied all the files from bp from my shared hosting to dedicated server, there might have been a hidden file or actual temp file that didn’t get copied over – Let me know if I’m on the right track…
Thanks.
thanks, will install and try to get it up and running tonight…
Forgot to mention. GD2 image library is not installed on my site, but it was installed on my shared hosting. Is that needed? and the error message is “Missing a temporary folder.”
Same problem here. you can visit ndcom.com basically I had a shared hosting plan and the bp/wpmu would be slow, I moved to dedicated server and “oh yeah” it’s fast, but now when new members come in they can’t upload photos.
My brother and I found the problem; when a group was deleted for some reason the mysql database changed somehow it was weird considering it’s only my bro and I messing with the site.
forgot to mention, I’m using the latest trunk and have installed bbpress and go it where when you signin it will log you into bbpress as well. But since this error occured I uninstalled bbpress. bbpress used to be located at ndcom.com/forums/
Oh, still on shared hosting and will be going to dedicated tomorrow or day after.
Thanks for the advice, I will go ahead and get a dedicated server hosting plan.
Alrighty, installed WP-DBmanager and didn’t get the WSOD. I had to deactivate my other plugins and install WP-DBManager and then re-activated the other plugins, but still the site is slightly laggy at the beginning of any click.
Forgot to mention. I tried to install the WP-DBmanager plugin, but I received the “white screen of death.”
