1and1 host 500 internal server error when attempting to activate BP Plugin

Hello everyone. I’m hoping someone can help with this. I have WP 3.0 working in my 1and1 Developer package. However, attempts to get BP to install causes a 500 internal server error. Anyone know how to fix this. If not any suggestions for a different web hosting company?

It’s either a memory issue, or a PHP version issue. Forcing php5 and bumping up the memory is your best bet. There was a topic about it somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it.

500 internal errors can also be caused by bad .htaccess rules.
