404 on slugs and .htaccess
None of the social slugs were working for the site after I installed Buddypress 1.0 on to WP MU 2.7.1. I decided to try changing the htaccess.dist file to be .htaccess and I get an error 500. The log says the following:
[Wed May 06 03:43:22 2009] [alert] [client 126.96.36.199] /home/james/yoursite/.htaccess: RewriteBase: argument is not a valid URL, referer: http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/themes.php?activated=true
(Note: I’ve replaced my url with yoursite.com)
Looking inside my .htaccess file I can see at the top that I have:
At the top of the file so I changed it to be
It works perfectly now. I just wondered if this was something that got left in the .htaccess file by accident or if I had inadvertently bodged my install.
