    @benvess

    I have a puzzling problem. Today i downloaded WPMU and BP…WPMU installed beautifully and all the other plugins work magnificently…

    BUT if the BP folder is moved in the plugins page, I get 500 error. I don’t get the chance to go to plugin page or whatnot. I mean like literally the site shut down. so I move the folder out of plugins and the site is back!

    I don’t get it…

    @benvess

    I solved this. uhmph it’s a 1and1 problem…

    I decided maybe the oldest pages may have had this problem and yep!

    it is now solved! yayness!

    Please set this back to red-light. I’m having the same issue, and I’m also hosted with 1and1, but benvess didn’t post enough information for me to figure this issue out!

    Please help!

    I’m getting a 500 error whenever the buddypress/ folder exists in the plugins/ directory. When it’s gone, the error stops and WPMU works fine. When I reinstall, it 500s again.

    Any ideas?? Help?

    Wait! Success?

    Found this answer in the earlier forum posts. I’m testing it right now…

    EDIT: It worked!
