activity bump comment to top

can you guys please help me get this feature working again? we really relied on it and this alone kept me from upgrading to buddypress for YEARS i just went from version 1.2 to the latest …and of course lost the feature where when you comment the reply goes to top of activity ..this keeps the conversation going otherwise stuff just gets buried …does anyone else agree?
this is the plugin we were using which from everything i read is not ok to use on latest version of bp:
