Activity feed on index rather than blog?

  • @farmvillemad

    Member

I have Buddypress 1.2.3 running on a brand new installation of WordPress 2.9.2 at http://www.FarmvilleMad.com – I want the site index to display the activity feed as it does on the Buddypress demo website at http://testbp.org, and have the blog on a seporate tab, also like the NEWS tab at the testbp.org demo site.

How do I go about doing this? I have browsed the forums for a resolution but can’t seem to find one.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist me, it’d be greatly appreciated!! :) Thank you.

You need to update the homepage in the WP Admin Settings this is exactly what I did for my BuddyPress site http://ipadalicious.com. Login into your admin area: Go to settings and Click on reading – and under Front page displays page. Then:

    1. Select A static page (select below)

    2. Then select Activity Stream in the Front page: drop down list

    3. Then click save changes and you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps.

You need to create a page first, before you are able to do this.

    Go to pages.

    Create New.

    Give it a name.

Then you can go into Settings, reading and you will be able to select the activity stream as your main (static) page, and that new page you created as the Blog post page.

Oh I did not know that. The about page was already created with the WP install by default.
