Activity stream, entries, contextualization

    Hi everybody,

If a user post a new topic to the forum (wide) the activity stream will notice users that action. Now, in the entry, below the post title and excerpt, you can “comment” the action.

In my opinion many users see that and reply to the topic using the comment button on the activity entry, and it’s non ok because the topic will have 0 replies.

Maybe it would be better to change to different action types that in most will be “comment”, but may also be “reply to the topic” or “view the topic”.

    What do you think about?

    Thanks.

I agree that this causes confusion. You might try creating a ticket here: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/newticket

Actually, you can disable commenting of forum posts and blog posts in activity stream. Just go to wp-admin Settings > BuddyPress > Settings – Activity Settings – Blog & Forum Comments –> uncheck Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts
