Activity stream widget shows entries for every bbpress edit

If a person posts a bbpress forum topic, then edits, edits again, and one more time.. the buddypress sitewide activity widget shows each one as a new activity. It’s much too redundant. Any fix?

It’s a known bug.
There is a patch available.
