Add Buddypress to WordPress Blog

  • Hello,

I have a WordPress blog. I want to add buddypress to it, which I have already done.

Now what I want is make buddypress as the main page while blog as a bub-page.

I also want the same theme to be used by buddypress.

When a user goes to domain.com, he will see the buddypress along with the theme, and the blog will be in sub folder.

What is the best possible way to do it.

I have used the buddypress theme pack, and I have managed to get the theme to the buddypress pages, but the homepage is still showing the blog, and when i change the reading settings to “activity stream”, i get a “Not Found” error.

Can anyone tell me what is the best possible way to do what I am looking for ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards.

You don’t need the BP Template Pack if you’re doing this.

What you’ll need to do is:

    1) Deactivate the BP Template Pack plugin.
    2) Activate the BuddyPress Default theme on your blog.
    3) Setup WP 3.0 in network mode as a subdirectory install.
    4) Create a new user blog and activate whatever theme you want on this new blog.
