Add Friend Slow

    Website stats:

    Wordpress Version 4.2.2
    Buddypress Version 2.3.2.1

    Using the KLEO theme with BBPress activated.

    I’m on a VPS server. Site has been sped up dramatically since upgrading hosting, but still VERY slow when certain actions are taken, notably the “Add Friend” button and similar buttons take forever to respond. This makes it seem like clicking the button “does nothing” instead of instantly switching to “Friend Request Sent” or whatever.

    Now, if this is just a matter of BP being slow, I can live with that, but can I update the script so it processes the button change first so it seems like stuff is happening?

    Normally, the Add Friend action is very fast.
    The issue is probably in your theme or server setup.
    Try switching to a WP theme like 2013 and then check the speed of the same button actions.

    Great. I’ll try a different theme and see if it speeds up.
