Add Images to Activity – Profile Page

I love the idea of buddypress, but I am still trying to incorporate it better to my website.
Instead of having author pages, I want the member page to become the author page. It sounds like the easiest way for me to achieve this is:
If I can get the Activity stream to show only (Posts) and the (Images) made by the author. This would make it look much more like the author page, and then I can simplify my website a bit.
……Then I can erase the author page, and just use the Member page as my author page..
Also Does anyone know how to directly link someone to their profile page upon login?
