Adding Filters to the Member Directory

    I want to add/change filtering on the Member Directory page, it doesn’t have to be using the dropdown select but that would be nice. I’d like to have filters so they can, for instance, see only a certain level of members, or see members listed by country, that sort of thing.

    I’m seeing lots of discussion searching online nothing very definitive. Can you point me to an FAQ or other source on how best (and hopefully easiest) to accomplish this? Basically I don’t need all the default choices for filtering but would like to add a “List by country” and similar choices.

    Those two things require different approaches to gathering member ids.

    Adding the order option is easy.
    But filtering the members will require specific solutions.

    You can remove default choices by creating a template overload of this file and adjusting the select element:
    buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\index.php

    Note that it will default to ‘active’ regardless.
