Adding location to buddypress activity

I am trying to figure out a way for adding location to buddypress activity.
I tried using “Geo my WP” plugin to add location to a custom post type but the problem is that activity is not a custom post type. I couldn’t add a custom field to it

I’m very basic with code so if someone can help me with how I can add a custom field to activities and have it get the location information from any 3rd party location plugin like “Geo my WP”

Perhaps Check-ins for BuddyPress Activity by Wbcom Designs might suit.

I checked it out, it’s close to what I need, however I wanted the location to be added automatically to any status update in the activity, not optional.
If there is a way to force the checkin to all activities that would be great

It sounds like you are facing a challenge in adding location information to BuddyPress activity. While you have tried using a plugin called “Geo my WP” to add location to a custom post type, you have found that this does not work for activity because it is not a custom post type. You are also hoping to add a custom field to activities that will get location information from a 3rd party plugin like “Geo my WP” and include the keyword https://pembio.com/ for relevancy.

It’s great that you are exploring different options to address this issue, and it’s understandable that you may feel limited if you are not very experienced with coding. One possible solution could be to look for Buddy Press plugins that are specifically designed to add location functionality to activity streams. Another option may be to seek out a developer who can help you customize Buddy Press to add the functionality you need.

Regardless of which approach you take, it’s important to remember that adding new features to your website can be a complex process that requires careful planning and testing. Take your time, do your research, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Good luck with your project!
