@greg
I was just going to post the link to Buddydev too, but ya beat me to it!
I would be willing to contribute to it.
@Paul Gibbs
I would consider paying you to build it for easyoutsource.com, and we could package it and release it to the community as a plugin. We’d like to be able to filter members by rate, availability, etc., and we’d like to be able to perform boolean searches where you can search multiple filters at the same time. Any idea how long it would take and how much it would cost?
I’ve just released the basic “BP Profile Search” plugin, and I’d appreciate your feedback!
I am a little confused–this post has been going on for a while, however, there was no answer to it. And I noticed that buddypress.org does not even use the search that comes with buddypress, they use a better one. How can I implement that one? Cause no one really will use the standard one with buddypress as it doesn’t make too much sense. People just want to type something in and find it, not use a drop down that only pulls data from that topic (members, blogs, etc…). Thanks for your help on this topic.
I know this post is 5 months old, but Famous asks a good question. What search is BP.org using and how can we get it?
Is this some kind of secret feature we’re not allowed to talk about or something?
got universal search to work. anyone know how i can add group documents to the search results page?
I’m also looking for a group documents search feature- so far nothing but I hope someone can come up with something soon.
if nothing else avialable, I would replace bp search with Google Custom Search.
But I can’t manage the load the google result page.
If replace bp header search form with the code from google control pannel, there’s no space to show search result.
If replace bp header search form with google search form code, and paste google search result code in search-2.php, then, the search-2 php can’t be loaded. bp redirects url to “Page Not Found”.
I tried remove_action( 'bp_init', 'bp_core_action_search_site', 5 );
then, all search action goes to Members Directory search result page.
Can anyone share some tips?
Buddypress 1.5
I have the same wordpres one with buddypres 1.3 http://lovingpeople.lovingplaces.com
and the other with buddypress 1.5 http://people.mispicaderos.net
In both of them I installed Bp Profile search, but in the 1.3 version i also have an adress to search http://lovingpeople.lovingplaces.com/search, wich works perfect. But this adress is not in the 1.5 version.
Any idea…?
I know this is an old thread, but still ranks high in Google, so this might be of interest to some people. We have written a BuddyPress plugin for searching Extended Profile data and managing listings and reports.
WP BuddyPress Advanced User Search Plugin
All feedback welcome
Bare naked code removed. Please don’t open up 4 year old threads and drop code into a post without any explanation of why or what you’re needing help with.
