After upgrade to RC-2 avatar thumbnails disappeared

Since my upgrade to RC-2, the avatar thumbnails (and possibly a few avatars) have disappeared.

I kept all of my files from the previous installation of buddypress; does anyone know how I can restore the avatar thumbnails or avatar images generally? I’d prefer not to ask users to re-upload them.

have you set 777 permissions to wp-content/blogs.dir check also if the users is not root

I went into blogs.dir and there were no avatars there. So I went to my old blogs.dir and found the avatars were all there. I copies the directories to the new location and all the avatars (thumbnails and all) are working.

I am having this same issue. My blogs.dir folder is owned by the apache user, not my FTP user. Do I have to change the ownership before I can update permissions?

First of all, you are posting in a thread that is marked as resolved and is more than five months old. Please read this thread for more details why this can be an issue.

Secondly, we have no information on your current setup. One could assume that you are still using RC-2 since this thread pertains to that version.
