would like to allow SOME html in the user’s wire posts (just like myspace)

    – no php allowed

    – no iframes allowed

    – no JS allowed

and dont allow whatever else could break/hack something

anyone know if this is possible now?

You should search first opening a new thread :D

Anyway i made a plugin to have a visual editor in wire & forums :)

    look here => http://bp-dev.org/projects/#tinymce

    and here to install http://bp-dev.org/download

@Nicola, How do you add advance features to tinymce like media & image button and also does the activity status strip away images or media, so if a user adds a youtube video in wire the activity status removes the video or what?

Because I want it like Facebook newsfeed with media, basically add image or media in activity.

report it as enhachement in the bpdev-trac http://trac.bp-dev.org/ (log in with your bpdev user&pass)

I wonder how tough it would be to use the same “Add Media” buttons that WordPress uses for it’s Quickpress thing. That seems like the ideal solution to me.

And a “post to wire” bookmarklet, same as the WordPress “Press This” but with a Friends selector. Hmmm

    @ Nicola

I am already using the TinyMC editor for BP you created… (thanks…works great)

but that does not appear to allow HTML in the post itself

I even attempted to add the code inside tags… that didnt work either

can HTML be used on the wire posts?

are you using it via svn?

“but that does not appear to allow HTML in the post itself”

    What does it means?

you have to use the editor as a common editor, for example selecting the code you want to be bold and clikc on the B

that is why we need advance features to make it simple
