Allow members to search by filters

Hi all,

I’m using WP 5.1.1 and BuddyPress 4.2.0

This is kind of a dumb newbie question, but…

I have created filters using user tags that members can use. I want people to be able to search by those filters. For example, search for a member who meets a, b, and c criteria. Does the code below that I found in the codex do that? Is there anything else I need to add to it?

Add custom filters to loops and enjoy them within your plugin

I realized I used the wrong terminology. By “user tags” I mean “profile filters.”

What does profile filters mean?
Profile fields ?
If so, perhaps a profile fields search plugin is what you want.

Thanks. I found that plugin after I posted this. If I can make it work it will do what I want, but I’m having trouble with that.
