allow search by username

    Hi guys,
    I have tried to modify the core classes file to add something like (“OR u.user_login LIKE %s”, $search_terms_like) to sql query filters but it is not working(don’t know how to modify bp-custom or function.php to achieve this).
    Some similar solutions in old posts seem not working any more.
    Any ideas?

    Hi @evilnut

    You shouldn’t modify core files because when you upgrade the plugin, your changes will be lost.

    Thanks. I understand that.
    Right now I am just looking for a way to be able to search members by username.
    Then I will try to solve it by modifying bp-custom.php or function.php in theme-child.

    If you are on the Members page, the search function already supports username.

    What are you trying to do?
