Allow users to post other things than just status

Hi ! With BuddyPress, I would like to allow my members to post more than “just” status . I wish they would have the opportunity to post an event for example, which would be a Custom Post Type with different custom fields. Is there a plugin or something that would allow something similar?

You want to create an event via the update form on the activity page?
afaik – that is not possible.

You can create events that will also generate an entry in the activity stream.
This plugin will do that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-simple-events/
