I want to put the what’s new / status update form in a page specific sidebar or embedded at the top of regular WordPress page. But I want to do this without making a custom page template.

Bowe Codes does everything else I need but this.

I have searched high and low for a cheat but I’ve come up with nothin’. I’m trying to avoid building a custom template but I’ll do it if I have to. It just never hurts to ask you guys first.
